My opinion- if it's close between two players, they'll avoid giving it to the guy who won last week.

Defensive Player of the Month for October will have to suffice. 

KK in October: 19 tackles, 5 sacks, 3 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble. 

 

Not sure if they'll include this weekend's games in October or not. The Thursday night game is still October, so I imagine they will. So he probably has one more game to pad those stats.
