Official Hornets at Heat Thread

Fox Sports controls the broadcasting rights and makes the call on who broadcasts our games.

They decided to replace Steve and bring Stephanie into a second analyst seat for some reason.

The Hornets picked up Martin and replaced Lauer with him, probably because he's synonymous with the organization.

He wasn't replaced. He wanted to return to radio.

Man, I just don't know what to say...

Imo, this team has the talent to be a top 5 seed, but together, they played like poo collectively tonight.  The flow and cohesiveness we saw in preseason wasn't there.  The ball was sticking again, guys taking dumbass shots, throwing dumbass passes...   And the biggest problem, again -  Clifford's rotations.

Because of his dumbass, as much as I want to talk poo after seeing Winslow flash like he did tonight, I can't talk complete poo because Frank only played 6 fuging minutes lol.  Can't really compare and contrast who got the better deal when our guy isn't playing...   Then again, from what I observed, Frank was getting torched defensively in those 6 minutes.  But I go back to the distribution of minutes...  Why the F did Al not play in the second half?  As soon as he sat down in the first half was when the Heat started their run and never looked back...   Not because Al is poo defensively, but because his offense helped level the momentum.  Furthermore, like I said,  Frank only played 6 minutes, Cody was like 25+, and yet, Marvin logged the most minutes of any front court guy, with like 37 IIRC.   It is just fuging mind boggling...   Why is Marvin still getting all those minutes as a big???

Oh well, fug my prediction...   We're playing for 8th.

It's the first game. We only lost by 10. There is good on this team. Don't freak out its a long season. Many games to play. RELAX.

This is all true, but apart from the first quarter and what was at that point garbage time, the game wasn't really that close. If we're using that as an early measuring stick, this squad has a long way to go to even start thinking playoffs.

The defensive drop off was expected but I was most concerned with the inability to shoot the ball on offense that looked like a carbon copy of last year.

The good news is that it appears the days of the giant drop off in production from the first to the second unit are gone thanks to improved depth, but I'm not sure the top end talent is there, and that's been the Achilles heel of this team since its inception.
