What do you think of bandwagon fans?

I'm not really sure what I'm classified as lol I'll let you guys be the judge... I live in Detroit, and 2003 was the year I started watching football as a freshman in high school... I began to LIKE the Panthers, when they lost the Super Bowl I actually didn't care that much because I wasn't really into football. Then I did my first fantasy league, and I don't really know what happened... Next thing you know I'm listening to the panthers on my computer radio league pass lol every Sunday and the 1-7 start with the way they finished that year was when my love for the Panthers took off... I'm talking jerseys (up until 08), posters, banners, a massive fat head with the old logo, never missing a game, I've even flown to Charlotte and dragged my girl friend with me 5 times now to see us play. I've rocked Carolina gear at ford field every time you have played the lions on the road... Its hard to because I'm a fan in a different state, so when people see me at the bar with my panther gear on this year it looks like I just jumped on lol... Until they look at the name and number on the jersey and it says Jarrett #80... I will never buy or wear a new jersey for that exact reason. So would you guys consider 12 years of fan hood enough?

As a fanbase that hasn't had the amount of success as others, we've always been the first ones to make fun of the 2012th Man, the Saints fans that don't remember anything before Drew Brees, the Patriots fans that don't remember anything before Tom Brady, etc. However, I know you have noticed people on Facebook that have never said one positive thing in their lives about the Panthers suddenly pounding their chests about how There's Nothing Finer Than to Be in Carolina For the 6-0 Panthers. The same people that you remember taking selfies in their Jets jerseys a few years ago or the ones with Steelers flags on their trucks. I know you've seen the amount of people rocking Panthers gear WAY up all over Charlotte. I've heard secondhand about how our bandwagon is growing nationwide too, not just in the Carolinas.

What do you honestly think about these people? Good thing or bad thing?

I love seeing Panthers love like I haven't seen since 2003. It's cool that everyone else is into what you've always been into, you know? At the same time, it's...not. When I was a sophomore in high school still wearing my Panthers shirt to school in December 2001 and being made fun of because of it..............I don't know, *I* have paid my dues as a Panthers fan since Year 1, not these people that jump on now that we're thinking Super Bowl.

I have to admit I think the bandwagon fans annoy me more than they excite me. Am I being petty? Can anyone relate?

Yeah they annoy me, they paid no dues. Same thing happened to me in school wearing my Panthers hoodie kids would say "...the Panthers .. the Panthers? ... hahahahaha"

I really dont mind it though. Because I know they dont get the same rewarding feeling from winning as us true fans that sat through Weinke, Peete, Clausen, etc. Being an 8 year old kid that went to every home game during the 1-15 year and then seeing them go to the Super Bowl two years later was the coolest thing growing up

I became a fan during the 1-15 season. Always have been drawn to the underdog, and im from and was living in NC at the time. Just felt right for me to go for the home team, stand up for the home team...my home state.

As for bandwagoners, bring them on. I want the Panthers to get on the level of teams like the Steelers, Cowboys, Pats, etc. Means we're experiencing or have experienced sustained success. I love when I go to visit my mom and pop back in Winston, I see many more folks in Panther gear. It wasn't like that always. Both my parents have given up their Steeler and Cowboy allegiance, and have become full blown panther fans. Moms loves Cam Newton. She watches the games and texts me whenever the panthers get in the red zone..."Cam's gonna do the superman!" Haha I just bought her a Newton jersey last week
