What do you think of bandwagon fans?

Thought about it for a minute.  If we were perenial winners then maybe I could drum up some hate for bandwagon fans.. but this undefeated winning streak.. expecting to win, fans on other boards talking about how bad we gonna beat them.... I'm not used to this sh#$$.  

So bandwagon , die hard, long time , short time, yada yada.. I'm just enjoying the hell out of this season.   I would hate to be one of those people who start to judge someone elses level of fandom.  As long as you are there during inevitable losing ... then enjoy the winning now.

Being in California, I have been a fan since the team came out. Hated 49ers growing up, if it was not for the Panthers, I most likely would have been a Raider fan LOL, good lord praise Jerry Richardson. But I always rep my team, with hats, key chains, jerseys, wallet, bumper stickers, screen savers whatever i can get to show my support. I even got my youngest daughter a Carolina Panther cheerleader outfit for Halloween. So being a true fan, I can't stand fake ass fans, I see fans of teams who all have won a superbowl in the last 10 years like crazy living in California, Patriots, Steelers, Seahawks, Giants, Packers and I am like WTF? yeah fuging right. Living in Northern CA, i have came across maybe 5 or 6 guys who were panther fans. When we win a Superbowl, Ill be pissed to see a bunch of people repping us.

I think the influx of new fans isn't actually bandwagoners, just extremely fairweather fans from NC and SC who want to flex their muscles and point out how awesome "their" team is.

Just as long as they don't act like they've been supporting the Panthers through all the rough times and been a lifelong fan.

i think it's a great place to start to become a long term fan. 

i welcome all new fans, regardless of who you were a fan of prior. until the panthers came into the league, i had several teams i was a fan of and then i jumped on the brand new panthers bandwagon and stuck around, just like i hope many of the new bandwagon fans do. sure, many will jump ship eventually, but many others will stick around and that's how this fanbase will grow.

Who really cares? Why do people insist on creating some type of ownership of fandom, like squatters rights or some such nonsense? "I was here first! GTFO!"

I love the fact that more people are excited about the Panthers. The good times bring more fans, and sure, some of them leave at the first signs of struggle, but a lot of them stay on to become diehard. Getting irked because someone new gets excited about something that you've been excited about for a long time is just part of the human condition, but it's really silly when you think about it. 

Having an entire city geeked up about our team is awesome! Who cares if some of them go back to Sundays at the lake whenever we hit our next slump? For me, the tough times make the good times even sweeter, so if others miss out on that, or it's not as meaningful for them, no big deal.

I hate them. If they were 0-6 half the stadium would be empty. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say "They need to put Derek Anderson in!"

My whole view on new fans or bandwagon fans, Do not act like you are a lifetime fan, admit to being a new fan. Please learn the history of the team .... and BY GOD, learn the true meaning of KEEP POUNDING

Personally I dont care for bandwagon fans ... for us or for any team. I have been a Panthers fan since day one (have Panthers tattoo over my heart). I have suffered through the rough years, been laughed at for being a Panthers fan during the terrible years.

So yeah, I despise the fans jumping on board for the glory times. Pick a team and enjoy the ride through the good and bad. Do not have a room full of all NFL Hats and only wear the teams that are winning that year.

I got the Ericsson stadium coin too. My dad took me to their first preseason home game.  Been a fan ever since.  Its been exciting and disappointing at times.  I don't mind Panther bandwagon fans.  But I do hate other teams bandwagon fans especially Cowboys.  There everywhere and annoying as sheet.  I hate all atlanta fans.  Pretty much any fan that lives in NC and rocking another teams jersey other than the Panthers.
