What do you think of bandwagon fans?

Good thing! Come one, come all. Keep these fuging opposition fans out of our stadium!

this...I mean poo. I'll take a bandwagon Panthers fan over a fan of any of these other teams any day.

We all did this in 2013. As soon as the Panthers do well we all have to bang our chests and talk about how we've been here since day one. Get over it - we don't make the rules to judge peoples' fanhoods.

Bring them all. I love Panthers black and blue in every city I visit.

Bandwagon Panther fans are no worse than all the fans we pick up because we draft or trade for a particular player. The folks who joined because of Cam are just as bandwagon as anyone else. If Cam left so would they. How is that different than fans who join when we are winning and leave when we lose.

I welcome them all. There is plenty of room on this train. Ride as long as you want. It makes no difference to me. I am here for the long haul but enjoy the company along the way.

It's unbelievable how many new Panther fans have suddenly emerged where I work. I absolutely want the fan base to grow, and work very hard pointing 5 grandkids in the proper direction. (They love Cam and Luke)

Honestly I would rather be around a new excited fan that may turn into a diehard, than deal with some of those that claim to be a fan but don't really have a clue. It's amazing how they can watch the game and see something completely different than what actually transpired.

I couldn't give a poo less. I was a fan during drunk Collins, Carruth, 1-15, Kasay's kick out of bounds, Slaughter in Seattle, Tommy Jone, Arizona, Pickles and the death of Foxball, the death of Hurney Magic, the birth of Riverboat, the start of Gettlemagic, Cam's brush with actual death, and KB going down. I'll be a fan tomorrow too. If there's a bandwagon, cool. Whatevs. Keep Pounding.

HAVE they switched though? Or will they be right back the first time we lose 2 straight?

I think there are different types

1.  Fair weather Bandwagon.    Hop on and hop off. Claims life long allegiance but sports jersey tags or wears another NFL teams jersey anywhere.    Fug em.

2.  Casual Bandwagon. Local, likes the excitement. Not generally a douche.  OK, I guess

3.  Transformational Bandwagon. Moves team or college fan converting to pro. Welcome!

Been a fan since 2001 and it was cemented in our super bowl run year.  I never liked football ( never watched it ) before that time period and just something about the Panthers that I really liked ( not only that they are the local team and figured it would be easy to see all the games ).  I literally have not missed a game since 2004, well maybe 1 or 2.  With all that said I really can not stand bandwagon fans.  Example, guy on my Facebook page is a "Saints fan" but now that Bree's started to sputter at the start of the year, he was ready to jump ship completely till they started playing better football.  Now he is changing his picture and background everyday to something new with the saints.  Just makes me fuggin sick.

Honestly most people who claim to be a fan of any team does not know ANYTHING about them.  When I happen to run into another "Panthers fan" they literally do not know jack crap about the team.  When I find out someone else is a fan of say New England, a game will be on the day before and I will bring up a conversation like...Dude, you guys got destroyed last night.  They will proceed to say "We lost?"...Crap, I didn't even watch it...as if they had no clue they were even playing.  Most people I have encountered and football are terrible fans so it's not surprising that bandwagon fans are everywhere.

love my connection to the panthers(being born in 93 in Charlotte). I'm truly stuck with this team for my life, Ive even tried to have an AFC team when we just absolutely sucked but to no avail. I will certainly never know how bandwagon fans can change who they root for constantly, but if I see more people in blue in black @ BOA on sundays then Im all for it.

Seems to me that everyone who whines all the time about how the media doesn't like us should be ecstatic for all the bandwagon fans. After all the arena of popular opinion is where  the media battles and the more people adopt us, the more we become the media darlings which is what they want.

Me I just want to keep winning. The uglier the better.

When I was a sophomore in high school still wearing my Panthers shirt to school in December 2001 and being made fun of because of it.........

This right here, except I was a freshmen in high school.

The only people that I can't stand on the bandwagon are those who openly mocked me for my fan hood then, and now claim to have been there since day one now.

These are people who not too long ago would openly mock the Panthers to anyone who would listen.

I believe that was the point you were trying to make that people didn't catch.

So fug anybody who ever talked poo about the Panthers or mocked our fans, they aren't welcome. The rest can hop aboard.

Bandwagon fans are fine.

Fairweather fans suck.

Pretty much.

I have no problem whatsoever with new fans who come and stay.

I define "bandwagon" fans as the kind that just follow whatever team is winning and don't commit.

Those guys suck. But new Panther fans? Great!

As a GS Warriors fan, I can tell you that the bandwagon fans come in droves with a team's success. I fully expect Charlotte to be how the Bay Area has been the past 6 months.

It feels kind of like someone being wealthy because they put in the hard work and earned it, against the guy that won the lottery.

But at the end of the day, fans are fans and money is money and the more the better I guess.

They are missing out.. the lows make the highs so sweet.  Gotta stay on the ride.

this is exactly my train of thought. Band wagoners that stay on and become fans for life are great. But part of the glory of a team winning a championship is all the shitty times you've had watching them and having your heart ripped out. When the Warriors won the championship I cried like a bitch. If the Panthers win one I don't even know what will happen I will lose my poo because the Panthers are the only non-negotiable thing in my life. I'll miss warriors and A's games from time to time but my wife actually plans our fall vacations around the Panthers schedule. She knows it better than me.
