He needs us more than we need him.

yep. This team has the chance to contend for a title this year. The Ravens, barring a miracle, will not...

He would fug up this lockerroom.

unfortunately, yes. :/

Will these threads ever stop??

EVER??????

(Stephen A. Smith says apologize......

Alfred E. Newman says NO)...

Stop It already!!

they won't stop until the second year after Smitty retires. Even the year after, people will still be making threads saying he will come back or should. It won't stop until it sets in that he has finally hung up the cleats

all i'm saying is everyone needs to get over the he said she said high school bullshit and treat this like a business...which i hear so many people say, yet suddenly everybody's feeling are hurt. This is literally what the trade deadline was made for. teams to get players that produce at positions they're lacking in. 1 + 1 = 2 and you're all talking about how 1 feels disrespected by 10 and 10 is worried 1 will have this affect on 2-9...TMZ bullshit. Start producing more testosterone you fugs

Oh, the irony!

Yeah, there is someone who really ought to grow up, quit being butthurt and act like a professional.

He wears number 89 and plays for Baltimore.

it takes two to tango my man, and a fanbase to fuel those flames. and i'm in no way excusing smittys crying because it's as annoying, useless, and unbecoming of him as it is for everyone else partaking in this weird vacation from logic to wallow in all dat drama

What would we trade for him?  We have already traded our 6th and 7th rounders conditionally.  Maybe we have other comp picks I'm unaware of but a 5th or higher is retarded for someone who would play 10 games for us then retire.

yeah as i've alluded to, i only care about football. getts and 89 back and forth kinda has to do with football so i'm kinda entertaining it. but a fans interaction with him on instagram deserves to be ignored

Which tells me you don't know how this works in the real world.

This isn't Madden. These guys don't disappear when the game ends.  They're real people with real personalities, Sometimes those personalities don't get along with each other, and when the conflict gets big enough it affects how the team performs on game day.

If you wanna say "well, they should just put that aside" then I'm guessing you've never held a real job with co-workers. Go try working effectively on a daily basis with someone you absolutely can't stand to be around and tell me how it goes.

Smart team managers know that when situations like this occur, you generally get better results by removing the guy with the problem. That's what Gettleman did. And if you think Gettleman is the only guy Smitty had conflicts with, you're dreaming.

In the grown up real world, sometimes there are people who don't get along well with much of anybody. When it's a football player, you can either expect everyone else to walk on eggshells around them or you can dump them. Ninety percent of the time, teams choose to dump them, and it's usually the right call.

As it was here...

Meanwhile, ESPN just laid off 200 workers for lowered ratings...I wonder if it has anything to do with idiots saying crazy things with no intellectual basis...nah, I'm sure it's just because sports have no die hard fans.  Maybe they should double down and scrap all highlights and just do moronic commentary and 20 or 30 make a wish stories...

I don't think anybody here believes that Steve Smith has such mind control over 52 other guys that they run in fear of him.

However,

If you don't believe locker room chemistry is a HUGE thing and is very real, then you've never played an organized team sport.

Do I KNOW Steve Smith would hurt this locker room? Of course not. To say that is silly. But do I think it's a very real possibility, even a probability? Yes I do, and I'm just wondering why mess with a good thing?
