Our 2016 FA Class

If our offensive line continues its great play and Remmers continues to be a big part of that I suspect he will have suitors since we all know the OT position around the league is pretty thin.  Doesn't mean we will have to break the bank for him or anything but I don't think we will be getting him for the vet minimum either.

sounds like he's on the fast track to replace Kalil if Kalil's contract keeps us from signing some of our core players.

itd be tough to part with Kalil, but with Norman, Star and KK contracts coming up, we might have no choice.

Then again, we really have no backup plan for Oher. So only Gettleman himself knows what's really going on with all these monster contracts coming up.

if this were the '80s, we'd be a dynasty. Not that we aren't going to become one regardless.

He'd be a nice back up, but there's no way I'm going out of my way to keep him. Williams will take his spot but he would provide nice depth and several spots.

Williams is still an unproven commodity.

What Remmers has done is to be really consistent, and consistently solid.

Now that Migshot of Williams translates to the field...he's gonna destroy some people...and I'm not what anyone could ever claim that I'm skiddish, but Williams scares me.

In one season we've managed to go from not having one legitimate NFL OT on the roster to having three.  That is the kind of thing I would be willing to pay to maintain, if possible, since we all remember the dark days of putrid OT play.

I've told people to not be surprised when we Josh Norman isn't a Panther next year....

Before you hate ejaculate all over your keyboard that isn't what I want, but Gettleman has never given any indication he will pay top dollar at the CB position

Sadly, I cannot get this thought out of my mind when it comes to thinking about paying the big bucks.

Granted, Hardy had a ton of off the field baggage but he is a top flight DE (Hog Mollie) and was one of the positions DG loves.  Yet he let him walk.   I think the 2014 tag was to fill a void for till this season where he could address it.

IMO there should be no question but I don't make those decision.  Norman is showing he is not only a good CB but a great one.  He has finally grasped the role and now he is paying huge dividends for us.  The hope is that DG makes the difference between a good DB and a SHUTDOWN CORNER.

A SHUTDOWN CORNER makes this defense very strong.

I hope we sign him long term.

I agree I want to re-sign him, but here's the difference: I KNEW we were resigning Cam and Luke- I can't say the same for Josh

Like was stated on the first page, KK is the wildcard this offseason. We might attempt to lock him up this year in order to keep him long term, and if we have to make a choice between short and Norman, I'm pretty sure Gettleman picks KK.

Hope we keep everyone at team friendly deals though.

Took a look at our salaries and all I saw, concerning our offseason, was Remmers, Tolbert, Silotolu, Alexander, Norman, Harper and Tillman.

Remembers is a sure-fire must sign and I think Big Frank will be an asset once he heals up. Both of these should be fairly cheap to re-sign. I think Tillman will probably retire and Harper isn't good enough that he can't be replaced by another vet-minimum FA if need be.

this works out nice if we cut CJ (who I think will be our June 1st cut,) and get Norman to sign a 5-year deal that is cap-friendly.

i think it's paramount that we keep our OL intact and hoping Williams will be ready to take over Oher's T position after the 2016 season.

I'd be shocked if Norman doesn't leave for a gigantic raise. Can't blame him either. Get paaaaaid!

I'm still dreading the day that we jettison Tolbert. He's not fantastic on paper if you look at him just as a RB, but his intangibles have been huge. Look at our W-L in the year where he was out about half the season. He blocks like a champ, and draws attention from defenses on short downs even when he doesn't get the ball. Hope they find a way to keep him.

Definitely on the drop CJ bus. He's great, but his salary is bananas and he's getting more and more prone to injury. Might need to put DE back on the draft board.

Remmers will get signed. He is our future Center once Kalil retires.

Possibly.

But they've been signing (and cutting) young centers on the PS as well.  Gettleman is urgently searching and hoping to strike gold in that area as a possible future replacement as well.  Just yesterday, they cut the center they had on the PS the past couple of weeks (Kush) and signed Dismukes, last year's Rimington Award winner (best center in college).  If they like what they see from Dismukes, then maybe we can afford to lose Remmers (though I'd prefer to re-sign him because 1. he's good in our system and 2. he's versatile).  If they don't like what they see from Dismukes over the next few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised to see them panning for center FA gold with another young prospect.
