But apart from those "tired defense" comments, I actually enjoyed most of the game commentary.  I'll take Collinsworth any day over Ronde.  There were plenty of compliments and appreciation for the Panthers style of play.  It wasn't horrible at alll.

Colinsworth is the love child of OBJ and Tony Romo....he can't stop but rubbing one out to them.  He's worse than Madden with Brett Favre.

Exactly. If you expect nothing but Panther praise for the entire game, you should be listening to the team's radio broadcast.

Otherwise expect to hear good and bad things about both teams.

really?  I heard him talk about how great Cam is, how great our OGs are, how great it is to see Stewart pound it up the middle and carry the pile for 5 yards, how we are winning with no name WRs, etc, etc, etc.

maybe that's just because I have a positive outlook, though, and that's what stands out to me.

General MO for announcer types is to talk up whoever just did a good thing.

I don't necessarily hate Collinsworth,  but I do miss the old days when John Madden was in the booth.

Me: Chris! What's up man!

CC: Hey what's up? You enjoying the game?

Me: I am. But I wished my Panthers would have beaten the Hawks and were playing. 

CC: Oh you're a Panthers fan?

Me: Sure am. Keep an eye on us next year. We're gonna be tough. 

CC (laughing): Yeah....not a chance. 

 

Hate to say it but for most of the latter 2000s, he was right.

He seemed one of the less informed callers on the Panthers... like he crammed some research and talking points last night. The plays we made did the talking but national prime games always have snippets or go in depth about something the team does good. We had a 30 second clip at the end of the game on KK Norman Luke TD. 

Some mentions of us not playing a good defense and i was yelling in my mind... dude we just played AT Seattle. I don't think there is a single team/place that would be harder to defeat on their own turf. Something was said about us not making comeback games... once again.. we came back on the seahawks. 

Hope we play sound & hyped up on MNF. Gruden will certainly give Cam & crew its praise. Really hope to see a Jonathan Stewart gruden grinder or even a surpise on the defense.... Starr crushing the run and blasting Luck..? Bene snagging a big time pick? Colin Jones making Andrew Lucks life a living hell? Keep Pounding.
