That Stewart guy...

So I was all on board for keeping Stewart this year to fill the hole at RB while slowly getting CAP/Fozz/Wegher into the rotation and getting a feel for the big stage and slowly integrate into our running attack and push Stewart out and on his way next year with his pending cap space.

Here's the problem, Stewart is running like an animal.  The last few games he has been running downhill no matter who is draped over him, against two of the toughest run Defenses in the NFL.  If he can keep healthy, it would be a tough decision on what to do with him after the season as he is currently a critical part of this offense.

Whats his money due next year vs. being released and what would we save?  How could we possibly keep him if he can stay healthy?

Stewie carried out offense along with many defenders last night.  He Beast-moded it.  He kept getting pointed out by even Collinsworth and co of him carrying defenders for extra yards after contact.

I can't wait to see him next week.  Think last night was just a taste.  If you saw what Ingram did yesterday to the colts.  I fully expect Stewie to go old mnf double trouble vs Tampa on the colts.

This offseason is going to consist of difficult decisions. Stew, to me, seemed like someone we could let walk at the start of the season it because his play but bc the money he'd want. He's been so clutch at pass blocking, play action, and all around running that we can't let him walk. Then there is Norman, Star, And Short, who I believe all contracts are up after this season. It is important to keep J-No as well as Kk and Stah. Maybe pick up fifth year options on the day's tag J-No and resign JStew.

But, that's a problem for the offseason, let's keep winning an keep pounding. Go Panthers go!

running backs are a dime a dozen.  hes running like this because he knows hes gone next year and he wants someone else to pay him.  its that simple. I like the guy well enough, and I would like to keep him. But for the dollars...i just dont see it happening.

Stewart is one of the most talented band in the league. He runs like an animal and is the perfect style back for our offense. He's also the best blocking RB in the NFL and does a great job keeping blitzes from getting to Cam.

He's not going anywhere. He's only 28 and his body has very little wear. Carolina is gonna ruse his back the next 3-4 years just like Seattle has done with Lynch.

RBs are not "a dime a dozen."

Look at the teams reaching the SB, they have great RBs. Stewie is very underrated by the huddle.

My personal opinion is that you have homer glasses hard.

Stewart has a history of injury issues. His body has PLENTY of wear due to those lingering ankle and knee injuries.

28 is old for a RB. This is when they start to decline. Look at the stats of any RB not named Adrian Peterson and you'll see a steady declination in their numbers after they reach the age of 26. 30 is damn near unheard of for a number one running back these days.

I'm glad he's played well for us the past few games but his days as a panther might be numbered if he doesn't take a significant pay cut this offseason. If that contract number goes down, I have no issue keeping him.

Nailed it!...

...Except he has always run hard like this...
