Next up if Addison is out

No news on Addison yet, speculation is that it may be some sort of shoulder issue. IF he is out for any length of time, will they bring up R.Cox from the practice squad or sign a stop gap guy to fill in (don't know who that would be). Having both Delaire and Cox on the 53 and thrown into the fire would be interesting. Don't know if they have much choice if they wish to keep a fresh rotation. Any ideas?

He wasn't an every down DE either so seeing maybe Cox come in after his great preseason should be interesting .. Not too worried about this change

Not a lot of DE's that are really good pass rushers as well as good run stoppers. One from column A and one from column B can be a good system.

Had 5 DEs and 3 DTs active because of Dwan's injury. Ealy and Horton got snaps at DT to allow the DTs some rest. With Addison out, they could re-sign Colin Cole to have 4 DEs and 4 DTs again.

What I'd love to see them do is throw some 3-4 looks in there with Colin Jones and TD on the outside with Luke and AJ playing the inside. Really fug with Luck's mind doing that

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
