Campfire Stories: Let's Hear Your Eagles Fans Encounters

I had some fun back and forth banter with an eagle fan in my section last night. All in good fun. Pointed out how their city is so trashy that Will Smith felt unsafe and had to move to Bel Air. Also let it be known that their most prominent and storied sporting legend is a fictitious character that didn't even win in the first movie.

Then he went to get a beer and waited in the stairs while a play was under way. I thanked him for that, it was respectful. He shook my hand and said something along the lines of "I can tell I'm in the south with how nice you were about that."

Good dude, would watch a game with him again.

There were definitely some good Eagles fans there as well as the assholes.

We had 4 sitting in front of us.  One of them looked like his family tree was a broom stick....he was too dumb to really be annoying.  Two of his buddies were actually pretty cool.  They loved their team, but we had some good conversations about the game.  They hated Bradford....were lukewarm on Chip as a coach...and think Chip is a moron as a GM.

About as good as you can hope for with Philly fans.

The ones in my section were not all that bad. There was a guy two seats over that said he wouldn't take Cam on his team because he's all about himself....he shut up when I asked him if he'd rather have him or Bradford. There were a few near fights, but they were actually initiated by our fans on this occasion. Highlight of the night (and eff me for not taking a picture) was this 350 pound bald guy with wearing a bright green 98 Brown jersey (Greg Brown I guess?) who fell asleep in the 3rd quarter and was out the rest of the game despite all the noise, people posing for pictures with him, his wife slapping him in the face etc.

A couple of rude Eagles fans a couple of rows ahead of us...went ballistic on the Panthers fans for standing up...high crimes.

The two in front of me were cool...some friendly sparring...until it became apparent that they were going to lose.  Then they got all mouthy.  "do you really think youze guyz are going to the super bowl...pleeze"

Some one hit it up top...some of these fans are way too emotionally connected to the situation...prolly due to socio-economics.  Trust me...I love my Panthers, but I value being a human being over some jingoistic fanboy.

I would have told him that my tax dollars and PSL fee paid for the whole damn stadium.....so that trumps him paying for that ticket.  And would have commenced to bang on the seat the entire game.

I might not ALWAYS be the biggest asshole in the room....but I am fully capable of being that when I want to be.

My tax dollars paid for it,I don't own a PSL,too poor!

This was me. Well not the Eagles fan of course, but the guy standing up in front of them. Here's how it went down (and yes I created an account just to post this story.) Also, sorry for the language, just giving an accurate representation of the event:

Man and woman behind me were Eagles fans and got pissed about myself an my friend never sitting down. About halfway through the 2nd quarter, the lady snapped. She stood up behind me and started screaming "SIT DOWN" in this deep devilish voice for a good 2-3 minutes. It was bizarre. She had not said a word to either one of us the whole game before this moment. Security shows up and escorts her out and her husband out. 5 minutes later they're back in their seats. They make comments about how we can stand up so they can do whatever they want also. This time they just stand behind us and let everything in the book fly at us. Called us fags, gay boys, asked if we liked it up the ass, asked if we would sit down if there was a dildo in the seat,  asked if our mothers were proud (which I responded with "shes damn proud" and she hits back with "I hope shes dead"), the list goes on and on. Halfway through the 4th ish hit the fan and the guy beside them eventually swung at the guy. At that point they had shifted their focus to him and his fuse was short. Just pathetic pieces of trash.

What section,was it 510?

Well I live in PA.  The first time I went to the Eagles stadium for a PRE-season game, I had women screaming abusive profanities and Eagles fans in general being extremely abusive towards me. I, of course, wore Panthers gear.

Last year - I heard all manner of BS and abuse from Eagles fans both at work and at home after Cam was sacked 9 times and you would have thought they were going to the SuperBowl.  There are decent fans that I work with and yes, most of them are hardworking blue collar types.  Get some of these same folks in game situations, am fairly sure that they would not become lemmings.  Most of the people I work with are reasonable and humane.

On the other side, I would also say there is a high majority of fugtards that make going to a game as a visitor risky and unpleasant and they just do not care.  There is no such thing as humanity or courtesy if you go into their stadium geared in the opponents' attire.  The abuse is real and as a woman, it goes way overboard with other women acting like total psychobitches willing to threaten another woman with physical abuse. I will hold my own and am not afraid but this goes beyond even any kind of reason and people going way overboard and extreme.  Personal safety is a concern there.

Sunday night - in our house, I saw WAY TOO MANY Eagles fans in our stands and when they scored, the fugers were chanting their remedial spelling exercise as a taunt.  I saw and heard them get abusive in Section 518 - saw male fans talk poo about sucking their dicks to other fans, including me and I laughed at them.  So when Sam Bradford got whacked, sacked, hurried and basically got nutsammiches from K Short or busted mouths from TD…I screamed and yelled epithets right back - "fugyoucockymotherfuggers" was part of my normal vernacular during the game. "Eatsh**bi#ches."  So when they were properly put in their place - I drank in the salty tears of the primalfuggs sitting in the first row behind me and should have taken a photo to commemorate their saltiness as it was a pleasant walk down to exiting the North gate howling and screaming "6-0" or "Let's Go Panthers" or "KeepPounding".

Yep - I was an asshat to the fans in my section but it was karmic and a lot of pent-up rage was unleashed after 10 years of abuse and general asshattery in PA.  Whatever.  We would be on the the receiving end of much more BS if the game had gone the other way.

GO Panthers!  fug the Eagles.  Rant over.

The Eagle fan sitting in front of me kept yelling "Scaaaam Newton" and yelling "the only people to steal more money than Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire is the IRS"

Same two "jokes" over and over again.  As they were about to quietly leave after we stopped then on 4th down I yelled "The only person to steal more money than the IRS is Chip Kelly"

He looked at me, realized I was about twice his size and gave me the ole "Its all in good fun man" and quietly shuffled off and out of the stadium.
