KK Short may be the best DT in the league

I had to search for this thread. He is absolutely beasting without much help around him. For those of you praising Aaron Donald, let the Rams lose Robert Quinn in FA, Put Chris Long on IR, and see how well he does. Short and Star are putting this D line on their backs and it is showing big time.

Both have played 6 games

Arnold leads in Tackles only and only by 1.

more solo tackles less assists leads Short 25-26

Short

More Sacks 5.0 - 4.5

More sack yds   31 - 22   6.2 yds per sack compared to 4.9 yds per sack

More forced Fumbles 1-0

More Pass Defended 3-1

Based on this information.  I would say Arnold is BEHIND Short not in front of him.

Short is a monster and though he benefits from Star

Donald has quite a bit of help too. Quinn, Long, Fairley, Brockers.   So it is easy to claim he is better but he also has a better supporting cast.  Not by much but better.

What more does he have to do? He draws double teams, stuffs the run, consistently pressures (and sacks) the QB. On PFF he's getting a +4 or +5 every week. I'd be shocked if he isn't rated #1 or #2 with them.

All he's got to do is keep it up. It's a long season and the best ones play steady throughout. I think he can do it, and rise to the top, but six games is a small sample to judge against. Heck, we might not have seen the best of him yet.
