i'm expecting this to be the biggest game of funch's career

it's a shame, on that tip for an INT he did exactly what people have done to PHI's CBs all year, shifting away on that cut inside. if he hauls that in it's probably a huge gain, especially if cam hits him in stride so he doesn't have to break stride.

can people stop blaming funchess for that drop.

that ball was thrown 90mph, high, and slightly behind funchess who was only 7 yards away from CAM.

If anything it would be 50/50. Cam had to rush the throw.

But placing the blame entirely on Newton for these drops/tipped passes leading to interceptions would be entirely missing the bigger picture. Look at the WR's playing with the best QB's in the league right now, they make plays for their QB's on less than 100% perfectly thrown passes on a regular basis. Olsen doesn't seem to have a problem hauling in Newton's fast passes, neither does Ginn for the most part, even Philly Brown too.

I believe Funchess will get better as time goes on, but let's not ignore what is right in front of our faces. He's got to stop tipping these passes. If he gets two hands on it, he needs to catch it. Period. He would tell you that himself.

He's a professional WR. That means he makes a living catching passes. He's been doing it his whole life. The ball was in his hands so no excuse for dropping it. Could Cam have made a better throw? Absolutely, but you expect pro WRs to make those plays.

I think it's time for people to start accepting funchess for what he is...   A not very good WR.  At least for this season...   Yeah he's young, and maybe that can change, but i doubt it.   We've seen this movie before, and it usually doesn't get much better.  There's no prescription for inconsistency.  And that's the problem...   He has no issue getting open, his issue is catching, and 7 weeks in, it hasn't improved at all, and that's why I'm thinking he is always going to be what we see now.
