Who was better.. Kuechly or Beason in his prime and pre injury?

The disrespectful gifs are because Luke is the obvious answer. Beason was very good but had some baaaad games for us, even in his "prime." People here loved him but we are an extremely fickle fanbase fanbases are extremely fickle.

Fixed it for you.

The back and forth happens in every city and fanbase. Love you today; hate you tomorrow.

Beason is one of my fav panthers ever but obviously keek is all-world.

total class, encapsulated the keep pounding motto, hype man, leader, energizer and an absolute beast on the field when he was healthy. He would still fit in well with this locker room. But when he wanted out when keek took over, nothing but class. Always gave keek props before himself, always put the team first. Love that dude.

Whole lot of summer children in this thread.

Beason was a monster.

Kuechly is great and the best in the league, but he also has a media narrative behind him Beason never had. Also, Beason never had any DTs in front if him.

Beason was an all time great panther and basically fug the first page of replies.

Better question.  Kuechly or Morgan in his prime without concussions?

now this is a cool question because they play in such different eras. The nfl might as well be a different game compared to the early 2000s.

I will say this: Dan Morgan was the most physically dominant player that has put on a panthers uniform. Just inhuman.

He also had the best game a panther had ever had period. There were five of him on the field in the super bowl. If they'd won that game he would have been mvp.

Also, Jon reportedly intentionally tanking his pre-draft workout with New England to avoid going there is one of the best things in Panther history.

Luke's the best defensive player in the league, but Jon was an absolutely elite player and a terrific Panther. Maybe he'll get some time here at the tail end of his career as a quality depth player or such.

Welp, if you didn't think we had bandwagon fans, just read some of the posts in this thread.

Welcome to the bandwagon, but educate yourself before typing. Beason was a beast (top 2 MLB), Kuechly is better (top 2 defensive player in the league, across positions). TD is not an MLB, and Klein is a very good backup.

When I saw Klein even mentioned in this thread I lost a lot of hope in humanity.

We have been blessed with MLB since we drafted Morgan.

Beason was originally drafted as an OLB coming out of Miami and was an absolute stud there. Then Morgan's damn concussions finally caught up with him and we moved Beason to the middle to take over. Beason was always undersized at 6 feet even but played with heart and motor that few posess. He was a damn good player for us.

Luke is better, but how many MLB's in history is Luke not better than?

Dan Morgan should always be remembered as one of the Panther greats as well. Dude was an absolute stud for us and played laid it all out on the field, as evidenced by his concussion problems. I love all 3 of them and don't care how you rank them.

I'm reading that Beason was "overrated" and "came close to being a top 5 MLB."

Patrick Willis was the only MLB considered Beason's superior before Beason's injury, and that was largely because of Willis's prototype size. He was athletic, great in coverage, great tackler, and made big plays for us.

People have short memories or just do not know what they are taking about. If Beason doesn't pop an achilles, he would still be building a HOF resume.

We have been blessed with exceptional MLB's. It is unfortunate that two of them (Morgan and Beason) had injuries derail their careers.

exactly. But I'm not gonna get into this discussion, I remember how good Beason was as well. People memories are like poo around here.

Well this is revisionist history at it's finest right here.

Jon had already accumulated three Pro-Bowl appearances at the time of his first significant injury. The only year he didnt prior to that point was his rookie season. He was also a 2x All-Pro, and if anything, was criminally underrated.

we don't have to rewrite history to give current players their due just because they have our logo on the helmet. We can still applaud their success without downplaying or denying history.
