Is there another team.....

What part of Denver is finesse? They are very physical up front and that's what their LBs excel in. There DBs are skilled but are physical as well.

And the Steelers are pretty physical as well. Both on offense(esp with Ben out) and on particularly on D. That physicality helps their short comings (talent wise) on D.

Who of Denver's LBs hit like TD or Kuechly?  Not Miller, certainly not Trevathan.  Maybe Marshall, but I'm not familiar enough with him.  Ware is a DE playing OLB, so I could compare him to CJ, but their DTs aren't Star or Short either.  Harris and Talib are great cover guys, but they don't hit like Bene or even Norman at times.  Bene will lay a WR out.  Haven't seen that from Harris or Talib.

Admittedly I haven't watched every Denver game, but what I have watched they don't look nearly as physical as us.

And Pittsburgh?  hah no.  The Steelers of 5-10 years ago?  Absolutely.  Not now.  Younger Harrison, Farrior, Woodley those guys could lay the wood.  Old Harrison and all those young (so far) busts they have at LB?  nope, and only Shazier even looks like a decent player so far.  Their DL also isn't nearly what it used to be.  The hardest hitter on the team is a guy we taught in Mitchell.

So I'll have to respectfully disagree with your disagreement heh.

I say Rams, Cardinals and of course Seahawks are the "toughest teams". I would probably include Broncos in that this year as well.

Cards, Seahawks, Jets, and Rams. That's it.

Yea, I could see possibly adding the Cards also.  My rankings would go:

Tier 1: Panthers, Seahawks, Jets

Tier 2: Cards, Rams

Sorry but I am confused.  Are you saying that the Bronco's have a great regular season record the past two seasons in cold weather in spite of  Manning?

It is easy to play connect the dots and discount what Manning can do.  But if Trent Friggin Dilfer can win a ring with a great defense I'm sure as hell not discounting Manning.

Look at Peyton from two years ago and you tell me if that looks like the same Peyton who played last week against the fugging Browns who threw 3 interceptions and needed his defense to bail him out. Don't worry I'll wait.

Peyton manning is at the end of his playing career. Of course he's not going to be as good as he was in previous years. Come on man this is simple stuff.

Von Miller is primarily rushing the passer, so not comparable to TD or Luke.

Denver has probably the best D Line in the league, especially in terms of pass rush. They are getting production across the board.

Their very good DT rotation of Williams, Wolfe Walker and Smith with Jackson as the anchor.

Marshall is definitely physical type of ILB but that said you have to be t be good at that position in their D.

Of course Talib isn't a physical CB but Harris and Roby certainly are physical enough.

Our safeties are not enforcers but TJ Ward is a banger and Stewart to a lesser degree.

Umm, have you actually watched Pitt on D the past few weeks? Their D is playing really well and being physical is a big part of that.

Mike Mitchell is playing much, much better this season and can hit as hard as anyone on our team.

Harrison is actually playing good if were paying any attention and looking almost as good compared to his prime.

Who are "all those" busts? Jarvis Jones was arguably worth the risk but is quite rightly a busts.

11 - Cam Heyward = Playing excellent

13 - Jarvis Jones = Bench/Rotation player. Never the same since injury

14- Shazier = Super talented/athletic LB. Played well so far. (Steelers haven't missed a beat in last 4 games tho)

15- Dupree = Making impact in rotational OLB role...

Jones, Dupree, and Moats are the ones I was talking about.  I said LBs.  And I added the (so far).  It's too early in all 3 careers to actually call them busts, was just saying it's looking that way so far.

And I don't think Mitchell hits as hard as TD.

Bengals might have the most complete team but I wouldn't call them smash mouth.

Rams are a fraud. They tried puffing their chest against Carolina 2 years ago and got smacked around.

Jets- yes. They have a nasty defense. Probably the best in the league. But their QB is Ryan Fitzpatrick. Lol

I'm sorry man but talking about the game 2 years ago has no relevance here at all. currently i do think they are pretty fin tough.  I get to see alot of their games out here.  bengals were just a possibility

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
