Steve Smith's son thinks we should make a trade for a certain WR before the deadline

in a perfect fantasy world, we could get smith back for almost nothing in return and win a SB with him, the one that he (and this franchise) finally deserves. i would put the chances at .01% and only that high because i remain a huge 89 fan. hope he is canton bound either way, and that he retires as a panther.

The man is averaging 102 YPG. That's 4th in the entire NFL for a WR with at least 20 catches. I would give up a player and a mid-round pick for that man in a heartbeat. We have a serious need at WR and a team with a legit chance at a postseason run. Not to mention he is the greatest Panther of all time. This should be a no-brainer for the Panthers.

And honestly, it should be a real possibility given the current situation with the Ravens.

a mid round pick and a player for less than a year? that ludicrous.

tbh, losing 89 as his go-to receiver may have actually been a factor in Cam's maturation as a player. not just as a leader in the locker room, but in his progressions. especially more now, with KB out for the year, Cam has had to spread the ball out to all of his receivers, not just zone in on one player and force it to them no matter what. last thing i would want would be a player demanding targets per game (see sammy watkins as an example) instead of letting Cam take what the defense gives him as he drives down the field.

I know enough about you in this brief conversation to know that I'm glad I don't know you. I also know in the real world you wouldn't be telling me to "fyck off" but no since in getting into keyboard warrior talk, so we'll move on. As I've said there's no point in discussing things with an idiot moron.

Yeah, I probably would say it. But you come in here making judgements about me based on emotion. Steve Smith will not be a Panther this year. Outside chance next year. He retire a Panther and that's about it. Get over it and ice up.

Now good day.a

I like superbowls (and ludicrous, incidentally).

Edit: But really, you can't keep paying all your current players and signing all your future draft picks anyway.

i love 89, but i dont think he single-handedly makes us a SB team. and if you look at the players we have gotten with mid round picks the past few years and how they have contributed to the team, idk why you would want to risk the future for the present. and Gman has already shown a willingness to use mid round picks to move up and select Funchess last year and Benwikere two years ago.

Would love to have 89 back but I think what he has said about the team as a Raven hurts that possibility. Plus Gettleman would be admitting he needs Smitty. Not sure that happens.

I think there is a good chance he'll reneg on retirement and come back next year though. Him and KB, plus Olsen and Funchess would be straight nasty.
