Steve Smith's son thinks we should make a trade for a certain WR before the deadline

Please people stop comparing Jstew, Deangelo or any other player the panthers have had to Steve Smith, it's embarrassing.  It would be one thing if Smith would have not had anything left it the tank but he was still playing at a high level and two years later still is (with a broken back.) Point blank, getting rid of Steve Smith was a mistake and if you don't agree with that take your seat on the short bus next to Jangler.

Clearly, your loyalties lie with Smitty and not the Panthers. You have done nothing but insulted others and made unfounded claims since you started commenting. If you're that dedicated to one player, go and buy a purple 89 jersey. They must being having a MUCH better season since they have Smitty.

Never in my life as a Panther fan would I think someone would complain and prefer to jeopardize a team that is 5-0 and 2x reigning divisions champs for the sake of a their own nostalgia and a fairy tale ending for one player.

Panthers > Smitty...and if you don't agree with that, then perhaps you should take that short bus to Baltimore.

Your opinion is it would jeopardize the team, mine is it would make the team better. I've been a panther fan since I was 9 years old. I watched them play the Jaguars the first preseason game and every game since. So no, I won't be wearing any ravens jersey. I am a panther fan, just a slightly bigger one when Steve Smith is on the field in a panthers uniform. I'll just count you in with the other disloyal pieces of poo.  Better find a seat though that bus is filling up fast.

Yeah, about that loyalty...

Steve Smith said he'd quit today if the #Ravens traded him. John Harbaugh said there's "no chance" the #Ravens would do so.

So your fandom goes up and down depending on who plays for the Panthers? Gtfo with that poo.

Steve Smith is one of the greatest to ever suit up for the Panthers, but that ship has sailed. Get over it already.

Steve Smith is a football player. He PLAYED for the Panthers, and now he plays for the Ravens. He's on the downside of his career and his presence had a less than positive impact on the team. Why on Earth anyone but a sad fanboy/girl would want to trade away any draft pick for him is beyond me. I'll always love the games he played for us, and if he wants to retire a Panther, I'm sure they'd give him a one day contract, but he'll never play another meaningful down for the Panthers. People need to accept that and move on.

You can't be serious.  He's not just gonna poo all over the team that gave him a chance (loyalty) you know that thing that seems to be lacking around here.  You really think he wouldn't come back here and play and be with his family? He just probably knows it's not going to happen.

Actually, I don't think he would want to play here at all. I'm still not sure that he will want to retire a Panther much less come back and actually suit up in a game.

Me being a little more excited to watch a panther game with the greatest panther of all time on the field?  Is that how you're attempting to make me seem like less of a fan? The wheels are beginning to scrape.

Then next time use the word excited and not the word bigger.

Maybe you should become a Ravens fan, kid.

But before you do, you might wanna look back at the "loyalty" the Ravens showed Steve McNair, for example.

People like to question his character, but it was his presence in the locker room and his play on the field that helped us get to 12-4 and was the only damn person that showed up in the playoffs on a bad knee.

lol

Steve Smith had 745 yards and 4 TDs in 2013.

Know who had more TDs than #89 in 2013?  Ted Ginn.  Brandon Lafell.  Greg Olsen.

Steve Smith didn't carry jack poo in 2013.  Greg Olsen did.  Cam Newton and his 30 combined passing and rushing TDs did.  Steve Smith?... no.

What did the Ravens do to McNair?

There was a whole big brouhaha between McNair and the Ravens late in his career.

As was stated before, football is a business. "Loyalty" in the NFL is an amusing concept. Teams are 'loyal' to guys who are producing. Players are 'loyal' to whatever team pays them the most. And on both sides, it's justified.

That's why people hoping for storybook endings generally wind up disappointed.

This isn't a fairy tale.
