Eat Crow About That O

I want to give everyone who said our season was lost when Kelvin went down a chance to eat some delicious crow.

Our offense certainly has areas to improve, and Benji is a beast that is missed, but we are chugging along just fine.

Come on now, we all need to do it sometime. Even me (though not this time).

You know who you are.

You must only be watching the skill positions... because our oline is MUCH better than last year... a big reason why we are winning.

Fact, the OLINE has improved a whole lot but these drops and no fight for the ball got me on the fence. I've been a fan since 12 and I'm 31 now...It kills me every year. So, I''m didn't hop on this might be real train yet.

People here rarely eat crow.  Instead they just back waiting for the O to struggle to say they told you so.  Look at all the folks in the Shula thread still defending their views that he sucks despite all the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I swear some folks would rather we lose so they can be right rather than enjoy the success and praise everyone on the team.  Still others have some kind of PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and can't be happy for where we are because we might go on a losing streak and they can't seem to handle the highs and lows of football. So they keep holding back so they wont be too disappointed.

And the next group are the contrarians who calls themselves realists or devil's advocates.   If you are playing devil's advocate then go to your master or in other words, you can go to Hell.

My professional advice.  Sit back, do your relaxation breathing exercises if you get too stressed, and just enjoy the ride.  We are off to a fantastic start and even though it is highly unlikely we go undefeated, we are going to have a winning record and likely make the playoffs. Isnt that what we all hoped would happen?  And lets be real here, the team is looking pretty good right now and we should all be proud to be Panther fans.  Especially those who were around for 2001 and 2010.

    • I am glad we didn't start off really good and fissile out like past regimes. The struggle with Bryce and the benching was just what everybody needed. Look at Stroud and teams like the Giants with Daboll's first year, they surprise everyone and then they can't live up to expectations the following year(s). We looked at Canales and this team as hopeful and saw the struggles from day one. A HC learning on the fly how to be "the leader". A team who had no identity trying to find one in the midst of losing, even benching our #1 draft pick. But having most (fans and media) look past the Panthers as the worst was probably the breather, the space they needed to actually get better. Nobody really cared what or how the Panthers were doing. If we beat KC and/or the Eagles the expectations would have been high again. But playing better, very competitive (without winning) gave the team traction to evaluate the players, make mistakes and not be jumped on by fans and media. We weren't going to playoffs this year and by some chance we slipped in, we would have been a quick out with super high expectations next year. Now, we all just look for continued progress. The team is finding its identity while flying under the radar. The next 2 games with even more injuries, there shouldn't be expectations of winning, just play hard and let's see what the players got. The more the back ups learn the system, the more the system proves it just needs decent players to play within it and not necessarily all to be stars.  You can't help but feel Canales, Morgan, Tillis and even Tepper are on the same page. The NFL is not easy and it takes a lot of moving parts to win. A few really good parts and a lot of decent parts working together, FO to the back ups. The future looks bright, how bright? As long as it gradually gets brighter and doesn't die out, we could have a consistently winning team that always has a shot for the playoffs. That's what a winning organization looks like. Look at the many great examples of coaches and FO turning a perennial loser into a winner. It takes time and the right mix of people. That I believe we have.
    • Lol. Right. I am the emotional one. I make one sentence and one meme gif and you write a novella on how upset you are that I don't see the logic(nor does the coaching staff) in playing a lot of these 5th string players. Keep in mind this is in a season in which PS players have started multitudes of games. Think maybe, IDK, there could be a logical reason for that? No, no, I am sure you are much more equipped than an NFL coaching staff that sees these players every single day of practice for months on end to determine PT for literally guys barely hanging on to a roster spot behind your keyboard.  Carry on keyboard warrior!
    • That is exactly what they are doing.  No timeline yet on Brooks, and Chuba is their workhorse.  If he blows out a knee during these last 2 meaningless games, we' d have to draft or sign a top RB to start next season.
