So 9 of Cam's 10 4th-quarter comebacks (9 of the 10 are considered game-winning drives) were from 1 or 2 points down, eh?  Seems improbable, but a strange coincidence if so.

yeah, I was wondering about the comebacks myself the other day. What is considered a comeback? To me being down 15 points and still wining is a comeback. 2-5 points is not imo.

Here's a list of all Cam's 4th Qtr comebacks if someone wants to try to figure this out.

I agree the article seems somewhat confusing, especially since they are looking only at the point deficit as of the end of the 3rd quarter.  So, they talk about the Seattle game as being a 6 point deficit (20 - 14 Seattle).  In reality, Seattle scored another 4th Q field goal, upping their lead to 9 points (23 - 14) before we began our comeback.  SO, we actually had a 9  point 4th Q comeback, not a 6 point comeback as listed in the article.

Sorry KSpan for not realizing you'd posted PFR's list of Cam's comebacks, and then posting it again.  I'm tired tonight and need to close my computer and call it an early night.

Ok, I just quickly skimmed through the box scores of all those 10 games listed in the 4th quarter comeback list.  It's true.  In none of those other comebacks were we ever down in the 4th quarter by more than 3 points.

How surprising.

It really ups the level of this victory against Seattle even higher in my opinion.  Wow.  What a game.  I'm STILL hyped about the win and it's Wed. evening.  Having trouble really focusing on Philly at all!

I can't believe the Panthers have never come back from more than a 10 pt deficit in the 46th quarter.

The statistics here may be shaped by the definition of a 4th quarter comeback.  In just looking for more information, I came across the following definitions of "4th quarter comeback" and "game winning drive"

http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2014/9/27/6852291/stats-101-fourth-quarter-comebacks-and-game-winning-drives

Assuming the following is accurate about how the stats are calculated, it only counts games where the offense scores the points, so pick 6s or fumble returns for TDs or kick returns for TDs that provide the winning points wouldn't count.

What is a fourth quarter comeback (4QC) and what is a game-winning drive (GWD)?

A fourth quarter comeback is when the team is down 1-8 points in the fourth quarter or overtime, scores on offense, and ultimately wins the game. You can't earn one by running an interception back for the winning score.

Game-winning Drives are a slightly different animal even though most 4QCs are also GWDs.  GWDs are when the offense takes the field in the fourth quarter/OT, tied or down 1-8 points, and delivers the points that put the team ahead for good.

So not even the almighty all-knowing Chud the Stud OC could engineer a 4th quarter comeback over 3 points in his heyday of the Cam-Smitty-Olsen-Shockey Flying Circus?

I'll take some Chik Fil-A Polynesian sauce to go with that little nugget.
