Who replaces Shaq since he is likely to miss this week

I don't agree with G-Man on that one. I don't see anything special about Mayo outside tackling RBs. We already got Klein for that, and he's much better in coverage than Mayo. Oh well.

With draftees, especially as late as Mayo was picked, you get a really cheap contract as depth, so there's no reason not to at least let it play out and see if he develops into a serviceable backup if, for instance, we let Klein walk.

Josh Norman is a prime example of why you don't give up on draft picks early, even though his and Mayo's situations are obviously different.

They said Klein was a full participant today, so he'll probably be ready Sunday.  However, I don't think we'll see much of the 3rd LB in this game.  It was noted the other night, that Philly has only ran the ball 35% of their snaps.  We'll likely see a very heavy dose of the nickel/buffalo packages Sunday night, with Bene and Jones.  With the way they run side-to-side anyway, I don't see them doing too much against our front 7 in their run game.  Sproles on those swing passes in the backfield, does worry me a bit.  TD and Kuechly are fast, but he gets to the sideline in a nanosecond.  He's always hurt us with that play.

I hope we role with the buffalo package with Jones. I think he could be big this game.

If Allen is back, you waive Horton and promote Glanton

Or get rid of Brockel?  or IR him?

Horton had a good game last week.  I'm not sure we want to keep waiving him... and risk losing him.  Also Dwan is injured right now, and Allen might not be 100% yet...

I think we're going to need to run some man-zone combinations while making sure the LBS are unpredictable....I'm talking stunting zones in coverage.  They're going to run an uptempo game on us again and our lack of depth at LB scares me a bit.  Philly has some good OTs so being able to get strong interior push from the DTs will be paramount to our cause.  Offensively...controlling time of possession will have the most dramatic impact in this game along with turnovers and rushing yards.  If we don't turn the ball over and we get Stewart going...it's over.

I've got a question about roster rules.

Can an injured player on the 53 man roster be waived or would there need to be a special injury settlement?

I'm trying to think of who we'd waive if we call up Glanton this week due to Shaq's injury.  I tend to think we won't waive Horton again.  So, could we waive Brockel?  He's currently injured, so I don't know if we're allowed to waive him, or if it would be quite costly to the team to do so?

I havent heard that Klein is out of the concussion protocol yet so if he isnt, then who takes over for Shaq?  Jacobs?  Mayo? Or do we go primarily with a nickel package and play lots of Colin Jones and Benwikere?  Thoughts?

Probably lots o nickel. If Jacobs or Mayo don't cut it, also have Glanton sitting on the PS.
