What Eagles Fans are Saying

Philbillys don't let facts get in the way of insulting someone. It's their culture. Insult complete strangers before fighting them. Rob you if they win and then Philadelphia Parking Authority tows the victim's car while their recovering in the hospital. Completely different set of manners than Southern gentlemen and ladies have.

I love Parking Wars. Just sayin' lol

Their D is pretty damn good, especially considering the positions Bradford puts them in with his turnovers.  They're middle of the pack (15th) in yards per game, but they're 6th in points allowed.  They'll give up yardage, but they're stingy to give up points.

Comparatively, the Panthers rank 7th in both yards per game and points allowed.

They've also forced the most turnovers in the NFL (16) compared to our 11 turnovers.  The big difference there is that the Eagles have turned the ball over themselves 14 times compared to our 5.  Our D should have opportunities to create some turnovers this week.

Nothing builds confidence than playing the NFC East. If Philly thinks they are going to beat us like the Giants on our field they are going to get there Hart broken.

we play Luck before Rodgers. Say what you will about Luck but him and cam are the two best young qbs in the league and he has shown time and time again he keeps his team in football games

Yes, Luck is good.

I watched him in the New England game though and he threw some of the most horrible passes I've ever seen, missing wide-open receivers.  He threw stupid passes too into coverage.

The myth of Football Jesus Andrew Luck is just exactly that... a myth.  He's just another good, young QB with potential.

he is trying to play through a shoulder injury.  that is like watching Cam last year and calling him slow and overhyped as a great runner.

Luck can play lights out.  He still throws a couple of balls every game he shouldn't.....but his health is holding him back this year.

Except that his completion % this year is pretty much at his career average.

And his interception rate isn't that much higher (7% this year instead of his career 5%).

I'm not big on completion %.  Offense and what QBs are asked greatly influence what a good % should be for any given player.   Neither Newton or Luck play the pitch and YAC game some fancy completion % QBs have.

Luck has is flaws and you can clearly see he is hurt now.  But healthy, I got him and Cam in the same tier.

Fair enough.

That ain't gonna keep me from not giving him the benefit of the doubt after three years of the NFL media giving him blowjobs though... lol.

Oh now I do agree media has unfairly propped up just about every young QB in the NFL.....and tried to push Newton down.

Wilson, Kapernick, Luck, RGIII....media all jumped quick to put these guys in the highest tier arguable at any success.   Newton has always been the redheaded step child of young NFL QBs.....him and the actual red head in Cincy.

I personally think Cam, Luck and Dalton are better overall QBs than Wilson.  Wilson has been hidden in that offense and is the worst of the 4 (Cam, Luck, Dalton, Wilson) playing in the pocket.

if you haven't watched Bill Burr's standup in Philly on youtube.  Google it, watch it, thank me later.

If you take a look at his blog entry in regards to that specific performance about what happened it makes it that much better.

As small excerpt.

So we pull into the Tweeter Center and immediately gaze upon a sea of White dudes, most with shaved heads, grilling and drinking. If it weren..t for all the Eagles jerseys, I would have thought we were at a White Power rally.

cam makes just as many bad throws as luck. The difference is this year cam is getting MVP talk and luck isn't. All because the panthers have a better team than the colts. The colts have no oline or defense. Luck sat 2 games. Imagine if he was healthy for those two division games were 40 year old hasselbeck embarrassed the Texans.

Again a lot of y'all fall into traps the media sets for y'all hook line and sinker.

Cam and luck are virtually neck and neck stat wise but everyone in their mother who is still butt hurt about luck staying at Stanford that extra year won't allow themselves to move past that and concede that they are both the two best young qbs in the league.

Not at all. Cam hasn't been hailed as the jesus young QB that does no wrong like Luck. The real difference is the media is finally seeing what they refused to see and report.

    • This is why it's probably going to be hard to trade down. This draft is fairly light on top tier talent but pretty deep in talent of that next tier down. I don't think there's going to be a lot of teams clamoring to move up and numerous teams might be entertaining moving down. Not a good market to trade down if that's the case.
    • And if they can't find a reasonable trade down (I think we would need a 2nd rounder this year bare minimum to make any trade down worth it). I would definitely expect Dan to trade UP for an EDGE or LB in the top half of R2. Just makes too much sense. We also have a plethora of mid round picks to use as ammo.
    • I don't mean to make this a mock draft thread particularly,  but every time I do a mock I have been investigating the talent that goes off the board between picks 8 and our low 2nd rounder pick 57. There is a gargantuan amount of talent still left on the board in the top half of the 2nd round every time I do one. Losing our original 2nd round pick to the Bears as the last pick of the Bryce trade stings badly .  I'm particularly looking at elite players like Carson Schwesinger (LB), Luther Burden (WR), Matthew Golden (WR), Maxwell Hairston (CB) , Nick Scourton , Landon Jackson, Donavan Ezeraku (all DEs/OLBs) . The sweet spot in this draft really feels like pick 15 to 40 - ish. This is why the Bears should be making bank with this draft. I don't know how realistic a trade down is from 8, but if we could pick up any teams higher 2nd rounder and still grab their 1st? We'd be cooking with gas man.  Say for example we get Tet McMillan at pick 8, if you wait all the way to 57 you stand the chance of not getting any impact pass rushers in this draft. And I don't think this team can afford that.  I'd personally love for them to take a break from drafting wrs in R1 or R2 (i think we've taken one in the top 2 rounds in the majority of the past few years), and stick to repairing the nfls worse defense in history (in terms of total points against iirc, or was it yards? Also included my most recent mock as an example . Don't put too much into the  late round selections lol
