Gil Brandt has lost his damn mind

I'm less down on Shula this year but let's be honest, this is Cam's offense. He makes it work, not Shula. Rivera keeps talking about how they let Cam make more decisions on his own now and the offense is playing better...

That's called progression.  Which Cam has been doing.  Like it or not the plays Cam is running even when he "makes his own decisions" is pulled from Shula's playbook, not Cam's.

If we win a Super Bowl, we might be out both OC and DC.

and we probably get better because of it. I think McDermont gets looks this off season definitely. But we have his replacement already in house so I'm not worried in the slightest. I'd love for Rivera and Gettleman to go out and find an OC who can completely take over the offense if Shula leaves but I doubt that happens

You must've forgotten that I post here. I'll forgive you the mistake. I actually created the college football playoff system...back when you were in college.

Ice cold Dr Pepper here!

No I didn't forget you. Before this post I never even noticed you.

I just heard Brandt address his tweet on Sirius XM. In a nutshell he said that Shula was too young and not ready for the Alabama job. He talked about watching him stay an hour after practice this summer working with Cam on his footwork when he was there for the camp tour. Said that is extremely rare for an OC to spend time like that in the heat of the summer after practice.

It was a reference to the Dr Pepper commercial guy for college football. Not all the jokes are gold. Sigh.

Shula hate around here is incredibly stupid.

He has this team at 5-0 with the glaring deficiencies we have at WR.

It kinda shows who the 'madden experts' are who just parrot the poo everybody else says, or the people who actually see what is going on on the field.

Maybe Shula wouldn be a good head coach, but he is a good offensive co-ordinator.

It's just your typical football message board. The huddle is right on par with pretty much all other message boards.

When Shula micromanaged the offense, refused to let Cam change plays, and forced Cam to work through all of his progressions from the pocket the offense was horrible.

When Shula decided to let Cam work from the no huddle, allowed Cam to change the plays at the LoS, and permited Cam to run when he wanted to as long as he did not take hits the Panthers offense could put points on the board.

It is not Shula. It is Cam. Obvious.

Took Shula long enough to learn the lesson 'Let Cam be Cam'. You will live and die by Cam on offense, and I am fine with that because more often than not Cam will beat a team and redeem his errors in a game. He will rarely tank and lose a game.

Shula will still bottle up Cam in "big games" like the playoff games, the Monday night Patriots game, the Saints game in 2013 to win the division, and the Seahawks game last Sunday. They wait until the Rivera/Shula plan fails with the Panthers down 3 scores and then release Cam when all looks lost - sometimes waiting too late into a game. How many times have we seen Shula make Cam run the long time consuming drive in the 3rd quarter while trailing only to come up short and aid the opposing team?

Let Cam change the plays on the field and the Panthers can score 30 points a game on any opposing team.

If Shula were to get a HC job, which I doubt, then I am all for OC Ricky Proehl.
