We need to be humble and take one game at a time. There is alot of cockyness and bullshit around here. One game at a time and overlook no one

those who were the biggest sink holes in morale this offseason declaring doom and gloom are now talkin undefeated and superbowl. Stfu. Act like weve been here before.

Thanks op for the stats. Pretty cool

I mean yeah we've been here before, once, but as fans we don't have to take it one game at a time.

the team is doing that and doing it very well.  They have to stay focussed, I can buy my SB ticket now if I want.

that said, I'll not look at the schedule and take it one week/game at a time and continue to think I have some sort of impact on the outcome.

This. Also jinxes are not real. We don't burn people accused of witchcraft at the stake anymore. With the exception of being loud and showing up to games, we fans have no impact on the games...and even that is limited. I'm looking at you Seattle. Sit down.

It should be noted that their ELO ratings take into account last year(they actually go back to the beginning of every franchise) which is why Seattle is still so high. These are not this season only rankings though they are very heavily weighted towards this year.

finally a bit of common sense - I get this weird funny feeling when someone starts blabbering about how "we" need to be this and that. It's almost like that person has a mouse in his pocket or something...

I'll admit to using we when referring to the team. I think it's out of laziness/efficiency though. It gets annoying to say "the team" or "the Panthers" all the time. Also, there is a small bit of truth to it when one considers that the players view the ambiguous "the fans" as an important piece of the organization.

At least those are my attempts to rationalize my use of we. Poor attempts I admit. :)

Why in the world do the fans on a message board need to calm down and "act like we have been here"?  We definitely have the right to be cocky and proud today after the game we had yesterday, and the whole season up until now.  fug being humble and nice....its not like what we say here has any bearing on how the Panthers play on Sundays.

Talk poo and be merry I say.

Yea, what i do and say has no bearing on what the Panthers as an organization will do. Only thing i can see is maybe and big maybe that some players may read the board and buy into our bullshit. However, they are grown men that get paid to do what they do, so hopefully they know better than to follow and listen to a bunch of fans on their opinions.

    • Qbs aren't defined by physical abilities. Brady, Brees, Manning, Montana, Warner,.....doesn't seem to correlate.

    • If we are going to spend the money anyway, maybe the signing is not as bad as it seems.  Mays outperformed Corbett (before his injury and if you go back to last year, Corbett has been below average) and then Christensen took the job and Mays quickly took it from him and never looked back.  He could use improvement reaching to the next level (LBs) but picking up stunts and blitzes---he was surprisingly good.  Run blocking needs some work, but he is 25.  Corbett, in my view, should be G/C depth and if Mays steps back, he is there.  Mays should start because this team is building for the future and 30 year old players are not building blocks.  We shall see.  That is how I think about it, but there are many factors we do not know. Having said that, I like what Zavala is doing, and I do not want to bring in someone who would take opportunities away from him.  Zavala was really good at RG down the stretch, and in limited duty, was awesome. In fact, we have a guard from the PS who played briefly and did well, but he only played a few plays.  He is 25 and I recall that fans of his former team were upset when we signed him.   Maybe as the backup center only (Corbett).  You need 2 centers to run practices efficiently.  I cannot say enough about the OL coaches on this staff.  What they have done is overshadowed by the Lewis / Hunt signing.  Mays, Ekwonu, Zavala--impressive growth.
