Richard Petty Motorsports and Yates Racing on Thursday announced they have signed a letter of intent to merge operations in time for the 2010 season. The four-car team will race Fords under the Richard Petty Motorsports banner.

Paul Menard will transfer to the Petty team, joining Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler and A.J. Allmendinger. Sources have confirmed that Reed Sorenson, currently the driver of Petty's famed No. 43, will not be back with the team next year.

It's only a matter of time before Dodge is no more in NASCAR.

i wouldnt be suprised to see someone running it before this seasons over, especially if it's someone not in the chase. there's no better r&d than tracktime in actual races.

To bad Dodge will be getting out. They seem to finally be getting their program together. Did better than Fords this year. Kasey Kahne and Juan Montoya have been two of the hottest drivers on the ckt since July.
