Trade for Sammy Watkins?

This! I never understand the mindset of people waning to hold on to 1st round picks for dear life. Sammie is a proven NFL pro that is what, like only 24 years old? Why wouldn't you trade a 1st round pick? And hell at our rate, it would be a late 1st round pick anyway. We aren't getting a top or even top 15 pick likely

And the Bills would trade away a guy they traded up to pick at #4 overall and consider a big part of their future for just a single first rounder...

Oh sure.

that was the argument put forth by posters in this thread Scot. Thats what he was responding to. Why not address what he's saying instead?

Explain to him why it's better to have an unknown late round flip or flop unknown over a 22 year old proven commodity at an area of need. He wants to hear why that's better.

you wouldnt make the trade for a first round pick?

That'd be a terrible decision. Watkins is a proven commodity over the toss up of the draft, is, at 22 years old, younger than many draftees coming up, has a rookie contract, would immediately turn that unit into a strength in a year where the league is weak and improve our standing in that landscape

if all it took was a 1st and Gettleman DIDNT make that deal, the people of Charlotte would burn him at the stake.

IF and that's a VERY big IF we could do a straight up 1st for him then I'd be on board but seeing that Buffalo gave up a 1st and 4th to move up from 9th to 4th overall to take him I don't see them parting ways with him for a first straight up. You could argue new coach, new regime but the facts remain he's a productive NFL WR who they gave up a lot to get, I don't see them letting him go at the first sign of trouble and not getting at least what they gave back for him. I want Gman to have as many picks possible and im not willing to give up more than that, just my opinion.

Antonio Brown would be worth trading a first round pick for, too.

Think the Steelers would take that deal?

As has already been mentioned, there are plenty of players in the NFL that would be worth trading for, but the notion that their current teams would give them up for less than a monster offer is sheer stupidity.

You said 1st round pick.

Also, I'm fairly certain I'd be just as fine trading a 1st along with a throwaway pick in the later rounds.  It's all hypothetical of course but if youre asking if I'd rather have Sammy Watkins over Edmund Kugbila, Kenjon Barner, or Tyler Gaffney then the answer is yes every time.
