Just saw this on the news feed:  DraftKings and FanDuel were just shut down in Nevada:

"Nevada regulators ordered daily fantasy sports sites like DraftKings and FanDuel to shut down Thursday, saying they can't operate in the state without a gambling license. The decision comes amid growing backlash by investigators and regulators over the sites, which have grown in popularity in the past year."

This this daily fantasy industry grew to a billion dollar industry seemingly over night. That's why you see so many ads. They have cash they can throw around. Soooo many people buy into these things and lose all their money. Only a saw percentage of people get the big payouts.

All that money so quickly. Of course people are going to be poking around

Those daily fantasy sites can be a scam if you do the big payouts. I've had some pretty stellar lineups and haven't made it into the top 50% when I'm in the lottery style setups with 250K people.

But when I play the games with ~500 people and a $10 buy in I always seem to win $20-$75. I read an article about whales that put up $30K a week in entry fees and use crazy algorithms to screw the common man.

Bottom line? If your gonna use daily fantasy sites, do a few hundred players and below in your games otherwise it's a sucker bet.

Corrected your grammar and highlighted what is the main point. Because DFS companies take 10 percent of your winnings off the top, you better have an algorithm if you're going to make money over time. Most are suckers

Yeah,  recall a blowup about one of those sites having it set up so that you couldn't see other players' lineups untill after the game. Shady poo.

That doesn't really mean much at this point.  Of course Nevada would shut down an online gambling site to protect their own interests (the casinos).  Until bigger states follow (there are already a few small states that ban DFS), or the federal government steps in, these websites aren't going anywhere.  If the government finds them to be gambling websites, then there will be years of lawsuits.  So best case scenario, it will be a few more seasons of this thrown in our faces every commercial break.

I know you can't use fan duel in Arizona. You're right. Too much money at stake for it to disappear over night.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
