Thats why I wish we had a more open playbook for times like these... a hybrid 3-4 during some sets.. but sadly we don't have Glanton and Klien is hurt..

Did any of you really think Jared Allen was going to make a real impact for our team. I like the guy, I really wish we were getting the 2010 version of Jared Allen, but we didn't. The Bears pay the guy 11 million dollars this year and send him to us for a late round pick. You know why? It's not because he was playing in a 3 - 4 defense and he's a 4-3 kinda guy. They cut bait with him because he's no longer productive.

That makes up pretty thin at DE. Not to get sidetracked by wanting answers but how long to pinched nerves take to heal...on average?

 

Depends on what's"pinching" the nerve.  If it's a herniated/ruptured  disc that's sitting on the nerve, it could require surgery to clean up.  That's usually 6 weeks no/minimal activity followed by rehab.  If it's inflammation, anti-inflammatory meds and rest usually takes a couple weeks.  Bad part is, all it takes is a tweak, twist, or even a sneeze to lock up your whole leg.

We need answers! The Panthers are obviously hiding something with Allen! Why don't they just completely cut out the nerve that has been pinched. It's not like he really needs it anyway.

EDIT: Want to emphasize the on average part. I realize everyone is different, etc.

pinched nerves may never really heal. The reason it got pinched was because a nerve possibly came out of place and got sandwiched between two vertebrae or joints. Therefor, any time he makes a play in that area, he will most likely re-agitate the nerve...especially if the nerve doesn't get readjusted back into position away from the joints. A chiropractor with some good x-Rays could readjust the bones, setting free the nerve.

Let him get that rest and hopefully he produces for us when we truly need him the most. This was a maximum gain minimal loss move from the get go anyhow.

We have been saying that about everyone who's been injured and we have cut it close in a couple games now. If Allen can't play, he can't play, but we really need this team to be 100% with these upcoming games.
