Haynesworth is a highly unlikely FA acquisition, especially with the FO likely doing everything to keep Peppers around. With the selection of Jeff Otah last year...Jordan Gross is far more likely to leave via FA and make big big bucks somewhere like San Francisco.

Peppers will be the highest paid DE in the NFL history this off season.... I doubt we can also afford the highest paid DT in the history of the NFL as well.... That and I would rather the panthers invest that money in Gross.

I thought about starting a thread about that very fact. Think about the great young players that we have on our roster that were obtained through the draft. Beason, Williams, Otah, Godfrey, (maybe) Johnson, Kalil, Stewart, Marshall and Davis. Not to mention the vets Peppers, Gross, Smitty, Hoover, Wharton, Gamble and Moose. I think that our front office does a pretty good job identifying talent.

He's not saying Peppers isn't leaving just cause he wants Peppers to stay. He's saying it cause not only does Peppers want to stay, but Richardson and Hurney are going to make it happen.
