The #2 we let get away.

I assume you're use of "you" in your response isn't directly referring to me, since I haven't done most of those things.

I believe there are too many factors that we don't have access to that keep any of us from being "correct" about our front office and their evaluation of Snead.

The way you downplay the "system" argument is interesting though. Very well documented how important being in the right system is.

Overall, this whole thread comes off as an "I'm right and if you say otherwise then you're stupid," thread.

You can have your opinions (which is what they are; not "correct" or "fact"), but so can everyone else.

You are correct. "You" is a general term.

System is important like I have alluded to, but some football fans give weight to a system or situation way too much in reference to players overall value and worth. A "system" in football is not the Holy Grail in determining worth, a person's actual talent, skill-set, determination and (most importantly) execution to get the job done when your number is called is paramount in assessing a players value in my estimation.

I have said what I needed to say in this thread regarding Snead from the beginning. This thread was never intended to be I-am-right-and-you-are-wrong thread. Never! Some Huddlers, like they always do, tried to make it about that, and about me personally, but it is what it is. I am used to some Huddlers putting words in people's mouths and thoughts in people's heads and derailing a thread. Sometimes I play the "game", sometimes I don't. Sometimes I let personal attacks go, most time I don't. I never said, ever, that I am better than anyone else or know more than anyone else when it comes to anything on here really, much less Willie Snead. That's not my modus operandi. That is the shtick of others. I offer an opinion, and I support an opinion. That is what I do. You don't see me name calling and such, unless it's in response to being personally attacked. I have been the same way for years. I always support a Huddler's right to have an opinion (as long as they do it respectfully) even if I don't agree with it. This is what top dawg does. But, enough of me. I respect your opinion. I just want you to know that the thread was never about "I know more than you!"

PhilyB was pretty much spot on in his post when he said, "acknowledging snead's production juxtaposed against our lack of it at WR doesn't have to be some hardassed assessment of Dave Gettleman, and in this case it isn't."

I am neither acting like a crybaby or a dick. I have only responded.  Unlike some of you, I don't have to have everyone agree with me or make smartass comments in order to win some type of popularity contest. In the grand scheme of things, I could give a fug about my argument being praised you twit. I respect other people's opinions as long as they are supported by rational thoughts.

You've responded with mostly condescension.

I can accept some of your arguments being made in this thread if you were not so quick to completely overlook key factors, such as vastly different offensive schemes, and an entire offseason for Snead to fit in with his team. Each time I've pointed this out to you, you've only proceeded to deflect, and go off on a tangent.

I appreciate your insults though. Keep em' coming.

I am not impressed. Have the Saints won a game yet?

They did beat the Cowboys.

You just couldn't let the thread die could you?

First of all, I was met with condescension off the bat, and you and another jumped in like you always do to add to the mis-characterization of what I was trying to do here.

Then you try and tell me that I am trying to play the victim card (which I could give two shits about being a victim), and then you proceed to call me a crybaby and a dick and say I am the one who is insulting someone. And then you top it all off by playing the victim.

I have addressed your stats-system argument several times in this thread, and I will do so no more except to leave you with a couple of quotes from another response:

That, and the fact that Willie Snead would probably be doing better for us than either Brown or Bersin (which ain't got poo to do with the Saints or any team other than the Panthers), sums up what I believe about the stats-system argument as it pertains to Snead.

As to my first points about your mis-characterization of me and my intentions for starting this thread, here you go. I am done with your poo for today.

You keep citing PhillyB's post, but do you wonder why he hasn't come back to help you out after all the posters who quoted him?

It couldn't be because your arguments following that post have been increasingly flawed, and clearly biased beyond belief could it?

As for the insults, it was pretty clearly a sarcastic remark. I freely admit to dishing it out, mostly in good natured ribbing, and all this internet squabbling is clearly not meant to be taken so seriously. I've told you before, from an intelligence standpoint, I enjoy my banter with you, even when we don't agree. Though you are out there at times, you are certainly knowledgeable. The response you've received in this thread stems mostly from the clear nature of your approach to the matter with underlying blame thrown in.

I've already stated the absurdity of making comparisons to WR's in significantly different systems. Your grasping at some serious straws there with that one buddy. You can make the argument all day that Snead is at the very least a marginally productive player at this point, while his team is losing by the way, but making claims via direct comparisons while ignoring key variables is plainly silly, if not pointless altogether. Your comparisons in current form do virtually nothing to make the players involved look any better or worse unless you are going to look at the complete picture.

Tiquan Underwood is playing in the CFL right now, but he put up nearly 500 yards, and 4 touchdowns in 2013 with Mike Glennon throwing him the ball. Is he better than Brown, and Bersin too? We know what happened there. Dude didn't even make it past training camp with us. So please, stop it already with these awful arguments.
