The #2 we let get away.

This has absolutely nothing to do with my ego or "all the other starters Gettleman has found for us".

I knew that people would give their snarky responses and pull Gettleman's shorts out the drawer to take a whiff when I posted this, but it's not going to change the fact that we let Snead get away.

You'd think that some of you were Gman himself, from the way that you can't admit that this was an error at worst, or at least an oversight. I mean, some people do have a hard time accepting responsibility when they fug up. I don't think Gman is one of them. He accepts his responsibility like a man's man. But, then again, he has plenty of mindless minions on the Huddle that jump to his defense even when it's not warranted.

The thread is about Willie Snead IV, haters, and how we possibly need to take more time and effort to develop players, give them a real chance to succeed, as well as set them up to succeed when their number is called. This is particularly true as it pertains to positions of need like what we have at receiver right now.  Byrd just happens to be a receiver...and on our practice squad right now.

I just basically laugh at some of the responses. They are really entertaining.

Willie Snead, bitches! LOL

I suggest you take a gander at the second post I made.

Haters? You created the thread, people are going to question your logic. You're a big boy, you can handle it.

Now, as far as Snead's time here, I don't think less than 45 days on our practice squad would necessarily qualify as a "mistake", but more of not the right fit at the right time. You can't just overlook all the factors that came into play at that time. We didn't sign him during training camp, it was 3 games into our season when he reached our practice squad. He had zero playing time in the NFL at the time, and zero familiarity with our offense. Even if you look beyond all that, if we elevated him from the practice squad last year, whose spot on the 53 man roster would he have been taking?

Top Dawgs passive agressive approach to our team just isnt that passive after you see it constantly.

I wont apologize for having more faith in the GM who is turning our franchise aroound than the message board "I told you so" guy who never told us so.

How dare you.

The impeccable scouting abilities of top dawg have led to him staunchly supporting future hall of famer WR's such as David Gettis, and Denarius Moore.

I couldn't even finish typing that without laughing.

Gettleman brought in from other teams' practice squads or the streets (UDFA):

Remmers

Delaire

Wegher

Norwell

Whittaker

Jacobs

Horton

Brown

Bersin

Marlowe

Versus ones he let "Get away":

Snead

With a 10:1 ratio, I'd say he's doing pretty well myself. But that's just me... yeah, we let a WR get away that has shown a little talent this year, but overall, he's covered so many other positions of need with solid starters, or capable backups, that to criticize him for the one is kinda silly.

if you point out 35 players that we cut that moved on to do better on other teams, Dave Gettleman automatically gets fired by the Wizard of Oz.

right?

is that how this works?

Now, regardless of anything else, its the teams fault if Byrd doesnt become a productive starter because another PS guy is having success.
