I think Abe and Glenn's deaths should have been more brutal. Because Negan is about to take everyone on a roller coaster ride.

Soon, we'll find out if Spencer has any guts.

Basically, the show hasn't, thus far, lived up to the source material... It isn't even close...

Then you have three kinds of fans... Fans of the show, fans of the comics, and fans of both.

Fans of the show don't really know anything about the whole concept of The Walking Dead, aside from the little nuggets and details they get from the source material. They are used to fluff, and as an eventuality, that fluff has gotten old.

Fans of the comics have higher expectations than the show has been able to deliver on. For one, it is on AMC not HBO, which cripples the brutality and vulgarity that would be in this world, even though it is a fictional setting. The show is also well behind the comics, and at times drags things out (see Governor and Terminus, or anything Beth and Daryl) for no real reason other than to play up to show-only fans.

Fans of both entities just sit back and enjoy what both have to offer, souring equally on either side at times.

PSC is 100% right. I don't know what was more brutal to read, the Red Wedding (probably this) or see/read Glenn's fate play out in the comics.

It isn't about gore. It isn't about the next big bad villain. It is about these characters we have gotten attached to. For comic readers, it is somewhat different of an experience, both because Abraham and Glenn went through different things in the comics and show, and that both these deaths were so long ago.

Show people will be upset about Glenn. Comic people saw it coming (or were ready to protest if it didn't.)

Either way, we're talking about it, which means good things for the show and the comics.

TBQH Negan is probably the most likeable character in the comics. But, people ready to throw their hands up and write him off or the show off won't get to experience that.

And this is a character drama about a specific set of characters. Not knowing what is going on around the world only builds the sense of isolation for the reader/viewer. Besides, I heard there's a horrible show on called Fear the Walking Dead that does this. I don't know if it's even on anymore, I haven't watched much of it, since it's total garbage and I am easily offended by total garbage.

I will keep watching but keep in mind it's tv. Each show has a shelf life for a reason. If you can’t see the juxtaposition of the two from the comic to tv aspect i can't help ya.

Bronn broke it down pretty well. Take some tips from him on how to be mature and handle any critique of something near and dear.

And unless something happening somewhere else directly impacts the characters that the story is about, then it is useless information, the very definition of fluff.  What you are asking for is more fluff.

You're the one crying here.  You can't defend your uninformed opinion, and attempting to only makes you look ignorant. Not once have I whined or pouted about what I want the show to be. Not once have I tried to tone police you. Not once have I tried to tell you how you should feel about the show, or what you should think. These are all gas lighting tactics and they aren't going to work with me.
