Really?  Have I been complaining about things that aren't true, throwing around exaggerated terms like "gore porn"? My feelings weren't the one hurt by this episode.  I found plenty of things wrong with it from the Zombies in the Mist to the shitty way they drug out the deaths.  I thought the entire episode should have been a 90 minute season finale.

Maybe I should write six paragraphs about that so I can be cool like you.

In the comics it was clear that Negan only did what he did because Rick fuged up big time. Negan is definitely the more interesting character though. Actually Governor became who he was out of necessity.   I recommend everyone reading the short novel "Rise of the Governor" and learn that he was actually a good guy, a really good guy and TRIED to keep his humanity but the world changed him and he changed.  He wanted to help people and then it went downhill from there.

Negan is kind of the same, both products of their environment and without the state of the world they'd probably be normal, regular people.  Neither were crazy or psychopaths before.   The show should have had a few episodes covering that novel, a short pre-quel set up for the Governor and then flesh his character out CORRECTLY.     His story is actually quite sad.

And my gore porn has been explained ad nauseum.  Im saying the show better not fall into the trap of using that to hook new people going forward.

It's not really about zombies anymore.  And it won't be going forward.  They are there, and a plot device, but at this point it's about the human condition and what we'll do to survive.  They are disappearing.  Sadly, the show isn't doing a good enough job at it like the comics.

Watched the premier for a second time and picked up on several things I missed the first time.

Say what you want about the narrative but the show goes to great lengths to make every little action and every piece of dialogue meaningful.

Before he even shows his face, Negan wants to drill into the new folks that "all their poo is his", beginning with the RV. It's no coincidence Negan made his grand entrance from their RV. When Negan's right hand man takes Carl's gun and asks, "This is yours, right? Yeah, it's yours" and then tosses the gun in front of him, only for Negan to make a point out of it later. Rick's hatchet, Negan does that whole spiel.

Rick not giving Negan the look he wanted until the very end, that's really interesting on second viewing. All of the subtle, "huh, ok" moments from Negan as he realizes Rick isn't breaking like he should be. The game about cutting Carl's arm with the hatchet was in Negan's plans as soon as he dragged Rick into the RV, and Negan even disinfected the hatchet just in case Rick did have to cut off Carl's arm.

I was a little disappointed in the premiere at first, but the more I watch it the more I am impressed by Negan and JDM's performance.

I'm just busting your balls harder. Like a video game. Because all that pissing and whining around Alexandria is worth at least a rank up.

We just hit the 100th issue in the comics on the tv show. Issue 160 is due out in one week or so. The 3rd "big bad" is just now getting developed.

The main antagonist in this show is always going to be another human.  Would you rather them do something that's actually video game-like, such as looking for a cure, or fighting super zombies?

/watches for seven seasons. witnesses the highest impact scene in the entire run of the show or comics. "oh this is just gore porn"

Just admit your damn feelings were hurt by the show, something that wouldn't be possible if you weren't so heavily invested. Or would that be like admitting that you were too wrapped up in the fiction?

Glenn's death was cut straight from the comics. If anything, in the source material it was even more violent and disturbing, and far more heart-wrenching.

This!! There's a reason why the whole comic/show is called "The Walking Dead" and it has nothing to do with Zombies.

Look. I get the arc from the comics. That's great.

I don't want the next conflict to be non human. That's not practical or real in this context.  What I'm throwing out there is within the show to use tv to its advantage to show some different angles or zoom out like i said to show some scope.  But if they are going to be borderline frame for frame then it's a facsimile of the comic. 

I don't want to read it and know in advance what will happen. I want to be totally surprised.  That's more fun to me.

Obviously it's not more fun for you.

And this is a character drama about a specific set of characters. Not knowing what is going on around the world only builds the sense of isolation for the reader/viewer. You're asking that they change the entire basis for the show to fit your specific tastes. That is the very definition of whining.  BAWWWWWWWWWWWW THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANT IT TO BE.

Besides, I heard there's a horrible show on called Fear the Walking Dead that does this. I don't know if it's even on anymore, I haven't watched much of it, since it's total garbage and I am easily offended by total garbage.
