Negan's intro and lengthy speech was pretty much identical to the comic. They should've gone ahead and shown him bludgeon Glenn to death with Lucille, just as in the comics. The entire season was a cock tease and drag out that Negan was gonna show up and off someone and they trolled everyone with the cheap, cliche cliffhanger.

They should've shown Negan kill Glenn with the rest of the group screaming out and maybe a few try standing up or stopping him or something. Then Negan lines them up again and gives a speech about how he told them to sit still and take it to learn their lesson and that now he has to kill a 2nd person because they didn't listen to him. Have Negan sarcastically plead with them to follow the rules this time because he doesn't want to keep killing them and then he says now let's try this again and starts the eeny meeny miney mo countdown again.

Now switch to the POV scene where he bludgeons an unknown character and it blacks out to the group screaming.

The Internet breaks.

Would've been the most epic scene of the series and one of the best in TV history. This entire season was a huge build up to introducing Negan. JDM gave a great performance and everyone would've got to see him off Glenn. And then been left stunned that he kills a 2nd main character and nobody has any idea who it was. Then use the first half of the 7th season as flashbacks to Negan, Carol/Morgan, others, etc and there's no spoiler this summer who it was as everyone is still around filming. Then mid-season finale it goes back to current time and shows the 2nd victim was Daryl.

The Internet breaks again.

Ah, a half season of flashbacks. Gimple is probably strokin it to your post somewhere right now

I am sorry but I am more looking forward to Fear the Walking Dead than I am Season 7.  I know a lot of people did not like it, especially comic readers but I find both Strand and Salazar more interesting than anything currently on TWD.

To me this show was best in season two when Rick and Shane were going head-to-head (again, most disagree, I guess I am weird, hehe).  I am not sure what type of character Travis will be but if used correctly both of these characters could be intersting foes within the group.

I use to love TWD but now it feels like the second half of Dexter where I kept hanging on while they kept dragging crap out as long as they could, all culminating in the worst finale ever.

The dumpster BS was like a Bobby Ewing in the shower for me, where I really stopped caring.  I was convinced to stay because I kept hearing how great Negan was.  Then this half-season improved and once Negan showed up there was a ten minute or so time span during his speech where I thought it would all be worth it...then this.

I do not think I want to watch anymore.  Whether you are a comic or non-comic fan, can you convince me that I am wrong this time.  I do not want another Dexter where I keep getting pissed every damn year until an awful finale.

Can I also ask something off-topic.  I have never been one to go back and re-watch shows (except The Wire) but I finally started re-wartching TWD this weekend.

Why are the walkers smarter in the first season.  The first scene Rick shoots the little girl, she actually bent down to pick up a stuffed animal.  Then later a walker used a rock to bash in a window and another climbed a fence.  I get that they are decomposing but why are they getting dumber?  The also seemed faster back in the ATL.

For me, the bolded part answers the question. I think you hit on it there.

At first, the zombies are the threat.  Now it's the people who are the threat.  The bodies are decomping pretty quickly, and are losing ability daily.  People are getting tougher, stronger, and meaner.

As far as pooing the bed, I watched it last night.  I didn't sleep til after midnight =(  Two hours of frustration at the show.  In the Comics, is Negan literally a super villian?  Are there hundreds of Saviors who are super well organized, disciplined, and equipped?  I had a hard time buying that they set up ALL of that stuff so quickly.  Honestly, we needed to see some way that the Saviors were able to gather intel on Rick's group.  Could simply have been mustache man (who was epic!) talking to someone from hilltop, or watching someone spy on them.  It could have been handled so that we understood how and why Negan was able to know everything about them.

The whole waiting until season 7 to find out what happened to Glenn or whoever was expected.  After the dumpster BS, it can't be that surprising.  I need a TWD break, but I am looking for a fresher story in FTWD.

Hopefully the internet maelstrom from this episode will remind Gimple to get his crap fixed.  Or the ratings will let me think he can poo gold...

My bad, I asked it wrong.  I get why the old walkers are slower.  But why are fresh walkers not faster and smarter like Season 1 walkers?

Ahh, I didn't think about that?  Do we want to justify it that the newer zombies are weaker because the humans were weaker?

Or just that the show wanted to put the walkers into 18th place as far as dangerous stuff?

This is probably it.  To be honest they probably do not even think about it, although I think it would be interesting if the fresher ones had more abilities.

I recently started reading them, In the comics it's completely different. In the comics Negan is a total nutcase, I think he makes the governor look like a choir boy. As far as the intel, in the comics they have people everywhere, spying on the gated community. As soon as they move, they let the others know.

If I recall, the group they killed in the show where they went in and Maggie and Carol were caught, they were using radios. So in theory that's how they probably knew where they were going in the show. The Hilltop is a certain direction and it doesn't take a genius to know if someone is headed that way. It's not far-fetched that they kept close tabs on the group since you know, they killed a poo load of their people.

On a side now, how can I use spoiler tags now? Everything is changed and I can't seem to use the spoiler tags. -_-

The walkers were smarter in S1 because Frank Darabont was the showrunner and wanted smarter zombies.

When he got fired, the zombies turned into what they are now. The rumor is that Darabont wanted walker Shane to yell "Riiiiiiiiick" after he turned.

That would have been awesome and creepy as fug.

"Smart" zombies can be a lot of fun.

One of my old time favorites, "Return of the Living Dead":

Gimple is getting destroyed on twitter right now, as the finale is also being bashed by critics. What a terrible, terrible idea which was so unnecessary.

Random thought: I really like Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan, I just wish he was a little bit bigger, like in the shoulders. Watching him sizing up the crew, I thought he was kind of unintimidating. Maybe he'll bulk up a little for next season.

It was his hips for me. Super narrow but I agree I wish he would get comedian big for this. I doubt it thougj
