Walking Dead Season 6

JJman Returns

It really seems like they've sold out to all the commercialization of the show.

The real reason the cliff hanger doesn't work here is because the entire season was the actual cliffhanger, everyone knew someone was going to die, we've been waiting on it since last season and now they've said "fug you fans, wait some more..."

I mean, the episode as a whole... How does the writer's meeting even go for that?

Gimple: Okay guys, I have this killer idea. We've got a 90 minute time slot and we are gonna finally show everyone Negan. We know how he is introduced in the comics, and we want to mirror that as closely as possible.

Some dude: But wait, how are we going to fill 90 minutes with Negan stuff? We still have to close the holes of what happened to Daryl in the previous episode... Carol and Morgan... etc.

Gimple: True... hmm. How about this. We have back and forth shots the whole episode, of Carol and Morgan's arc intertwined with Rick's group doing something before they meet Negan.

Some dude: Like what?

Gimple: I dunno... just have them drive around in circles for some reason or something.

Some dude: done!

Some other dude: What about Daryl and the other people that were captured?

Gimple: How about we leave a couple clues on some random walkers chained together on some random road that Rick's group is bound to run into? Not for any reason other than to shake them up a bit before we meet the big guy.

Some other dude: done!

Gimple: any other questions?

Nicotero: Can I direct this episode?

Gimple: Sure Greg!

Nicotero: So who is Negan going to kill off in the final moments?

Gimple: Let's not do that yet. Let's close the story on this chapter and use that to start a new one.

Nicotero and the rest of the room: Huh?

Gimple: Yeah, let's let the audience wonder for months on end. We can be like Lost and Game of Thrones. Killer stuff man. What's for lunch?

Rest of the room: *puzzled looks*

Has anyone even attempted to answer the question of how the Saviors knew that Rick and Co would be traveling to Hilltop so they could setup all those roadblocks?  I mean that would've have taken days of planning and coordination... or were they just planning on sitting and waiting for them for whenever the next trip was?

They had a moment. A very rare tv moment where they could have showed their audience they were about making quality tv. And you know how they used that moment? To give us a 90 minute episode 30 minutes worth of commercials to leave it on a cliff hanger. This half season was easily the best of the series so far and all that goodwill they had they chucked out the window. For no good reason at all.

I think it just boils down to poor, lazy writing.

Just terrible. Considering we will know who the show wrote off in the coming months, I doubt I'll eve tune in for season 7. I'll just DVR each half season and watch it at once.

Like seriously all they had to do was show any of the characters getting their brains beaten in and it would've concluded the season nicely. Instead they go for this bullshit. Is it even accurate to call Gimple a writer anymore? This was one of the most retarded endings to a season in any tv show I can think of.

Maybe its because I stepped away for a couple seasons and came back to find myself enjoying it, but I don't have nearly the same amount of vitriol as y'all do. Don't get me wrong-your complaints are valid-the was a poor decision to end it that way and there was a commercial break literally every time the momentum stepped up (or every four minutes, whichever came first) -but I still thought it was enjoyable overall.

    • His o loaded with swift, dj, Keenan and Rome was inconsistent at best. The d was bad. And the game management was atrocious and lost them games.  He was terrible and made the team worse. I wish they kept him
    • That is my point.  I think teams make a huge mistake when they pay their decent to average QBs top QB money because they feel that they have to match the market or lose their investment--There is no way, for example, that Tua or Prescott or Murray should all be making more than Mahomes--I mean, Dak makes $15m per season more than Mahomes. People say, "Well, when its his turn...." But that is not how it should be--so my point was that Bryce can be doing mediocre to good enough in 2 years, but the way it is going, you have to pay him at the starting QB rate--currently $60m.  So even if you think he will continue to improve, at $60 m, he would eliminate any chance for a ring---so my view is, if he is not elite, you cut him.  So you draft QBs now and see what you can make of them.
    • With two 4ths and three 5ths I’m hoping we can kill it on adding depth. Take a gamble with the two 7ths.  First 3 picks id love to address the defense. I expect Tuttle, Robinson, and Jewell to all be on the 2025 roster but not after that. Be a good time to add depth and let them develop a year.
