Walking Dead Season 6

JJman Returns

I really convinced myself it was Abraham, but now i think it was Daryl.  I  knew it was those two or Glen because they took the beating with strength and silently accepted their fate with dignity and admirable courage.  To sit back up after the first blow, it made me think of those three, and Abraham had juat bowed his chest out at Negan in a similar non-verbal aign of strength and defiance.

But again, i think all of those 3 are capable of the reaction we saw.  But, i am starting to think it was Glen now because that would feed into Negan's intention of showing how cold blooded and unpredictably cruel he is.  He gives the impression that Glen is safe after he charged to save Maggie, and said he got a pass for the "first one"...  but, to really get an emotional response from his potential followers, Negan knows he has to cut deep.  Glen challenged him, he sees the relationship with Maggie, the group reacts ot Glen's reaction...

That being said, Gimple just said for them to leave it on a cliffhanger, we need to look at it like now, they have to have a huge payoff for it...  so, now i'm thinking, despite Negan promising to kill one, he may kill one, then other react and he kills them as well, as he knows Alexandria has more people.

That was fairly disappointing but Negan is going to be so badass next season I don't care as much.

it was a kind of cheap. They really could have gone all out with a shot of Negan smiling over the victim and ended it there. Oh well. The sounds of the bat were fuging brutal though. Made my stomach turn.

Weirdly, I think the show themselves possibly don't even know who is dead yet. They may have gone with this total cop out path to judge the public's perception of each character possibly being the goner. Aka, can we kill Daryl now or not. Has to be Glenn, Daryl, or Abraham though IMO. Darkhorse could be Michonne to further fug with Rick and his relationships...but can't see it. Not to mention Negan would target Curl if that were the case.

I feel like it's Glenn. Comic reason, and now...it's really the only way they can hope to recreate any emotion (unless it's Daryl). They'll show Glenn, then show Maggie, tears, yada yada, Twitter cries a little.

Daryl, to me, is officially too big to die. Read an article earlier basically saying he's the face of the show now...and in ways he is over Rick. He's the face of their mobile game even. Not to mention the Internet still has their "kill Daryl and I'm never watching again!!!" crowd.  PS....I probably missed something somewhere...but was the whole Daryl bloodshed that ended last episode ever explained?  Did he just get shot in the arm or something? The fug.

Abraham is a cop out in ways. He's not the big kill, or the comic kill, but one that makes sense (especially bowing up at Negan). Seems like I remember reading though that Kirkman wished Abraham were around in the comics for the big war with Negan being a former solider...so maybe he lives for it in the TV show.

It's too late for the Walking Dead to be a truly great show, IMO. It will go down as a good one, but never great. When Game of Thrones starts back in a few weeks...hopefully Kirkman and crew watch a real show and see what it's like to give no fugs, and see that killing big characters actually works.

I've defended this show a lot, but fug that... this was terrible.  Like, someone needs to lose their job "terrible".  I don't know how anyone thought this was a good idea.  Honestly, I didn't really like this season much at all overall.  I kept quiet and gave it chances just to see where it would go in the Finale... then they put this fuging turd out lmao.

Season 6 in a nutshell seems like a giant waste of time and the whole thing since the start was building up to "NEGAN, NEGAN, NEGAN... lol just wait until Negan!  Oh yeah, check out all this foreshadowing, someone is going to die *wink wink*".  Then you get to the big fuging moment and they decide to leave the audience with blue balls.

This whole season was literally just a giant waste of time.  So much filler, so many god awful dumbass avoidable decisions that led to episodes being drug out and wasting time, so little actual development outside of a few parts, very little progression outside of meeting Jesus and the Hilltop crew.  Just a lot wrong with it.  Even more so disappointing after such a great 5th season.

I think I'm just going to skip next season altogether and wait for it on Netflix or something.

It's just an absolutely horrible decision. Like someone else said, they could have had their Red Wedding moment, but instead they just have disappointed fans.

Plus the kicker is filming for season 7 starts in May. There are set photos every year. There were set photos of Glen with Jesus that spoiled him not dying at the dumpster. You think you're going to hide for 6 months which actor isn't at the shoots? This cliffhanger will be common knowledge within a month or two from now, and it will be the result internet detectives instead of storytelling. Bad formula.

What is the pay off of leaving on a cliffhanger like that? The pay off is leaving us in digust of what we just watched and a deep hatred for negan setting up next season but they failed miserably. i didnt think they would stupid enough to do that. wow man just wow smh

I've now taken to the same thought bolded here, BUT, I also think that seems way too convenient for the writers.  After teasing his death so much, as many have said elsewhere, and most knowing that he died in the comics around this time, it just got to where audiences expected Glen's death so much that they became apathetic to it.  I kind of feel like it's reached the same point with Daryl because since the start of the season, everyone has been speculating that he would be offed.  And one thing I've noticed with TWD, they never give people the "obvious" answer in these situations.  Because Glen dies at the hands of Negan in the comic, and even has Negan saying similar things like, "he took that like a champ," as he is killing him, everyone will spend 6 months thinking "it's gotta be Glen."

Gimple just said the payoff had to be huge for them leaving it like that on the season finale, and although I believe Daryl and Glen are the most upsetting suspected potential victims for the audience, they are also the most obvious choices.  So, I don't know...  For this to be the big payoff Gimple is promising, I'm now starting to think it's gonna be someone else...  I was telling my wife that Maggie dying would be shocking to most viewers, and if it was at the hands of Negan, with her also potentially still carrying a child, that is just sinister to the core.  I had a friend who thought it might be Eugene, who almmost became an afterthought to me in the last scene.  He pointed out that Eugene gave Rick his "recipe" for creating the ammo (which I apparently overlooked in the finale because I don't recall it), which essentially ends his story arc.  What purpose does he serve if he survives?

My other theory is the big payoff is that although Negan promised it would only be one, I suspect maybe the group reacts to who is killed initially and he kills several of them in this one scene to open next season (I'm thinking all of the ones who were already dead in the comic - Abraham, Eugene, Glen, and possibly Maggie or Daryl).

Lame AF

This was basically the same as having the greatest sex ever and then deciding you stop right before climax because you've decided you want to become a born again virgin for 6 months.

It was a pretty intense episode, no matter how illogical the movement abilities of the Saviors.

The biggest highlight was Negan, obviously.

In fact, the show could take a lot of lessons from its own characters. Stop being an up and down, indecisive child like Rick and start being a ballsy, barbed wire toting badass who gets poo done like Negan.

I'm glad Game of Thrones is back in 3 weeks.

What a joke.  I'm not surprised.    I'm sorry internet, this show is just meh.  They treat the audience like they are stupid every season.  The Glenn dumpster crap was bad enough, now this?

Obviously they can milk another episode out of this at the beginning of next season.  Show some "6 months later" scenes, flashbacks, who knows before we even know.  Heck, they may just show Carol and Morgan episode to open it up.

This also kind of sucks because it seems like a ploy by the show in contract negotiations with actors.  If the actors don't have the "they won't kill me, they need me" negotiating point that's a huge loss.   This way, they can leave it hanging and decide later.

They just blew their "Red Wedding" moment and honestly the biggest scene in the comics as well.

I think it's Abraham.. They explored his story a lot this season with him leaving the Spanish chick for Sasha, and Eugene telling him his services weren't required. Sucks cuz I like abraham and his sayings

I think it is too based on his "take it like a champ" comment...

I mean I honestly don't care who it was... but I agree with everyone that was the lamest episode to date.  All that build up, all the stars talking about it being gut wrenching and all that, then... nothing.

Utter bullshit.  They poo on the fans, period.
