They avoid their Red Wedding type "shut down the Internet" moment to wait and see who dies, with no true emotional connect anymore coming into a new season 6 months later.

Way to ruin whatever goodwill you had built up

Horrible way to end a season. All that build up is gone. Like someone else said, the emotional connection to any of the characters isn't going to be as strong months from now

Hell of an episode. Each "oh poo" moment slowly ate away at Rick and you could tell it. Intensity and reveal of Negan was awesome. 

 

Then Negan's monologue. Awesome. Just great. 

Then they ruin it all. Seeing somebody get their brains bashed in would have broken the internet. Have Negan do it without even showing the victim until they are dead. Show the mangled head and have Negan say "Lucille's a vampire bat" and roll credits. Would've broken the internet.

His excuse for ending on a cliffhanger was "that's the way this story ends. Next season will be the start of a new story."

That's BS. A story doesn't end on a fugging cliffhanger. Completely ruined what otherwise a great entrance for Negan.

Idk how i feel about the episode.  The reveal of Negan couldn't have been better or more intense.  They did a masterful job of really setting a tone and creating palpable suspense.  BUT, the ending does seem cheap and leaves me feeling a bit robbed.  I get that it gives the audience uber incentive to tune in to the next season's premiere, but you just built up all of this goodwill and filled up the entire audience's emotional well only to put our emotions on hold for six months?  That's just cheap.

Also, as far as my suspicions for what's next...  i was convinced It either one or all of daryl, glen, or maggie before the episode.  After Negan stating it would just be one, and judging from the recipient's behavior while being beaten to death, I now think it was Abraham, Glen or Daryl.  I'm going with Abraham right now, but that isn't as emotional as Daryl or Glen.  So, idk...  lol, maybe I'll gp with Glen then...  Either way, just such a cheap ending.

That was flippin' terrible.  I was really looking forward to this and like everybody else was really tense as everybody else who was frantically hoping one of their favorites was not the victim, then that?  Total letdown.  

After the dumpster BS I really lost a lot of enjoyment out of the show, but they earned back so much goodwill the last two months.  I remember saying that the dumpster thing was the second worst cop-out I have ever seen after the first season of Homeland.  I thought nothing could be worse than that...I was wrong.

 

I honestly do not care who the victim was now, although it will become pretty obvious who it is when one of the cast disappears from the set.

They also fuged up the end to that airplane thing too.  I was really interested to see who it was, hoping it was the Asian chick although fearful that it was the annoying kid.  Then the final one is a scene we already saw from Season 1?  WTF?
