I thought a major point of last episode was to show the Saviors aren't all totally freaking evil....and actually many are basically comparable to our group.

Survival at this point.  I suspect many Saviors simply have little choice but to be part of Negan's community.  Just like many now under Rick's leadership don't have much of an option.

Carol and Maggie's female captors were basically clones.  Even the crowd that stole Daryl bike didn't come off as really evil...just trying to survive.

I don't know, I kind of think the pictures in the rooms of smashed skulls and the attitude of you get what you take are a little more evil.  Now the preemptive murdering by Rick and Co was totally evil.  Justifiable?  Sure.  I am of the belief that the Saviors are evil by their actions.

I do agree that the leadership is what really aligns the groups on ye old D&D 2nd edition alignment scale.  Rick is compassionate and decent at his heart, but is EXTREMELY aggressive in taking care of threats.  Though his kindness is bound to bite him in the butt from time to time.

I think Carol's turn started with Morgan, but kicked in when the cookies kid was killed by the walkers. She had emerged as a survivor and a killer in recent seasons, but I think she realized when the kid was killed that she had become the kind of person that her abusive husband had been. She had made violence, or the threat of it, her main weapon, but had also been able to be the sweet, but fake, member of the community just like any abuser has to be.

And 21 kills is weighing heavy on her soul. Something tells me that she wants not just the baby to make it, but the mama, too. If not, that last thread to humanity she has will go.

This episode is going to change a lot of things, but Negan -- if there is a larger, more determined and more violent group out there under him(her) is going to push them to fight and kill more than ever to survive, but at what cost?

Do Eugene & Abraham talk like that in the comics? Their verblage straight trips me out....

I missed it, but I guess the preview from TalkingDead shows Carol's rosary next to a pool of blood with the sounds of struggled restraint...? This show keeps getting better.....

How big is Negan's group? They keep getting smaller, our heroes have fugged them up repeatedly now....

No Maggie or Glenn, thankfully. Glenn gets to me, dont know if its him always escaping or the dumpster bullshit or his half mustache....

I think I might not watch next week just to watch the final 2 together.....

I am so glad they had Eugene escape the way he did in the comics. I had told my wife that I wondered if they would and they did. I guffawed so hard.

I am kind of bummed that they gave Denise another person's death from the comics. But I can understand why they did.

Abraham continues to deliver with the one-liners.

I'm a little worried that they are going to remove Daryl and Carol from the equation in order to protect them from Negan's initial wrath. I think they have written themselves into a bit of a corner with both characters because these characters weren't around at this point in the comics...  (Daryl never was, Carol not at this point...) It seems, from the preview, that Daryl is going to disappear to look for Carol.

I'm super hyped though. This half of the season hasn't failed to deliver yet, so the next two should be amazing.

Eugene does a bit, but his character on the show is way more likable...

Abraham, not so much... On the show, he is almost around at this point, in most cases, for comedic effect. It kind of shits on how he was in the comic to me...

Show Abraham still isn't as bad as show Tyreese was... They crapped all over comic Tyreese.

I dorn know about you, but that dumb nurse chick deserved to die with her being stupid about "learning how to live in the new world.  One of the few deaths I have rooted for.

Abraham was one of my favorite characters in the comic.  I'm not a fan of TV Abe.

Where did they find Eugene?  Bullet factory or wondering home?  If it was bullet factory, then that defeats it as a safe place.

Spoiler

I am glad someone got Abrahams death!  I was expecting him to get the arrow as they were walking in the alley.

How fuging dumb can you be to allow your only damn doctor to leave! And then to ultimately be killed! Did they not learn anything about wandering the tracks from their trip to terminus?

And are you telling me the most backwoods character on the show can't drive a stick shift!?! Derp.

Oh! And crossbows don't kick!

i thought that was hilarious too. A gun's kick is from the powder exploding and pushing back, crossbows don't have any backwards momentum. If anything, they'll try to kick forward out of your hand when you release the string and the bolt.

IIRC Rosita has a little military medic training... but you're right about the Dr. part... At least they have Dr. Carson at the Hilltop in their circle of friends now.

LOL'd at the Daryl thing too...

I don't think they are removing them from harms way at all...

IMO Carol departing will ultimately set up Negan's introduction.  Don't know how they introduced his first appearance in the comic but I think the show will have its own take on how he first meets our group.    My belief is this episode ultimately setup what will go down....I think the train track scene and Carol's convo with Daryl set the premise of it
