Walking Dead Season 6

JJman Returns

That was awful.  Really, except for the episode with the wolves, this whole season has been awful.  I liked episode three until they pulled an all-time cop-out with Glenn so that episode is effectively ruined.

If they wanted to have him has his comic book death then it is very easy, do not put him on that damn dumpster in the first place.  They have lost all credibility.

As to the rest of the show, Morgan is fliipin annoying and what the hell was the point of having the kid follow Carl with the gun and then nothing happen?

I did like Tara flipping Rick the bird, was not a fan of the rest.

If only one person dies next week then Eugene needs to dies, he brings nothing to the show at all.  I am fine with having a coward as they can be interesting, but he is not interesting in any way.

Ok, a few things.

Did anyone notice how Glenn just hopped right into that window near the dumpster and fire escape? Did him and the other guy just not see it there plain as day while slow ass walkers approached them.

When Rosita was laying into Eugene, did anyone notice that lady acting like she was getting ready to pounce? I also noticed what looked like Rick's girl reaching for her gun when Rick was giving a speech about staying quiet.

Figured a few of you would rush to bash the show after this episode. The thread of "weekly bashing TWD" did not disappoint this week.

I swear some of you guys claim every episode not a premiere or finale is "filler"

i saw nothing wrong with how this episode or the season has played out. This show is one of the most gripping and suspense packed shows on tv. The scene of carol and the little boy who won't come down stairs just speaks to the quality writing the show has. No doubt that encounter will shape how she views Morgan and his ideals. Speaking of Morgan his character is so much more complex and appealing due to his origin episode. That also speaks to the great writing and characterization the show has. You understand this man still has an edge he can be pushed to, going back to his "clear-self" but he is trying to change that wolf because he believes all life is precious. He is a much needed moral compass for the group or they'd become ruthless. Carol is starting to realize that.

seriously lmao

I love the show and recommend it every chance I get. That said, aside from the Morgan episode and the wolves episode, this season has been riddled with bad writing and amateurish directing.

What makes a great show is when you can get lost in it. This series more often than not feels that way. This season, far too many times I find myself saying "that doesn't make sense" or "that was edited poorly".

Random little things, like in the Daryl episode, the camera had a still shot of the woods for like four seconds, then Daryl walks into the frame. It was just poorly edited and off beat. Like something I would have made in college film production. I noticed something similar last episode when Glenn ran from the building after Enid. Lazy. Directing.

The producers of this show are too smart to keep this up. I think the next episode and second half of the season will be great. But I'm not going to sit here like a little fanboy and say this season is great when it clearly has flaws.

@cardiackat88. yep I said the exact same thing about climbing through the window. Glenn even gave a little look, as if to say, "damn why didn't we do this before". Not sure if that was intentional or not, and the way this season has gone I doubt it was.

After the fact, I can see the validity of your criticisms.  I'm a theatre teacher. I spend all day trying to teach these kinds of things to kids who hate reading.

I like TWD since I can just put my critical basin away for a bit and just enjoy what I can from each episode.

I'd call what we've seen laborious. It's like waiting for Goku to FINALLY go super sayan in the dbz cartons. There are lots things to look at and enjoy, but not a lot happens. I've enjoyed most of it, I've enjoyed some exposition, and how the characters cope with the situation. But it has been long enough. I willingly ignore the bad to enjoy the good, for me.

I have to ask though, did no one noticed the tower burning?  That was a bit irritating.

I mean it's the same old song and dance with the same posters week after week who just say buzz words like "lazy/bad writing" no examples, no specific things. Just bash to bash. Like the posts I read after every week you think most would just give up on the show, but I mean that isn't as fun as getting to espouse an opinion every week to make themselves feel good. But what do I know, I'm just blinding praising. It's not like this show has 15+ MILLION people who watch as it airs week after week and that's with the show going up against Sunday night football.

Part of the problem with TWD is that, like GoT and other shows it requires a certain level of suspension of disbelief.

In the past, I have been hyper critical of the show. This season, and I don't know if it is just because I have given up or whatever, I haven't been as vocal about the things I dislike.

As most have said, bad writing and directing drive a lot of my own criticisms. But when I started letting that go, I actually think I enjoy the show more now.

Part of it is that I keep waiting for it to be the comic version of the story. Well, it was obvious a long time ago (with Andrea maybe? Judith? I can't narrow it down to a single moment) that they weren't going to give us the comics on screen.

The whole Glenn situation was handled terribly from our perspective as viewers, but pretty brilliantly from the show's perspective if you think about it. People kept tuning in each week, and keeping TWD's name in their mouth the whole time, hoping for some kind of resolution. It was basically a "Jon Snow" moment for TWD and they knew that going into it. If you think about it hard enough, Glenn and Jon Snow are very similar characters in different universes.

I think the midseason finale and the second half of this season is being set up for greatness. I'd be willing to bet we get a pretty healthy body count this next episode, including some second and maybe even first tier characters. I also think we'll get another Jon Snow moment this episode as somewhat of a cliffhanger.

Things that have been brewing that I will be looking for this week (most of which should and probably will end in bloodshed):

Judith being left in Jessie's house
Carol vs. Morgan over the wolf
Ron's gun lessons
Abraham facing his demons and his renewed likability because of it
Daryl's crossbow
the RPG
Rick and Jessie's tension
Sam and Ron being a couple of emos
Enid warming to the ideas Glenn is giving her

If it were me in charge, the body count this week would include:
3-4 or more seen but not really tip tier Alexandrians (maybe Tobin, Ron, Sam among them)
Deanna
Jessie
Judith (still a useless character and not even a plot device at this point)
Morgan (at the hands of the wolf or other wolves, or even Carol)
Carl's face lol

Basically, I think we are getting a whole episode pretty much about the herd entering the walls. It'll be chaos for a bit, some respite behind closed doors, and then more chaos. Glenn and Enid will make it back. Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha will get back and fire off the RPG. Zombie guts wardrobe time. Deanna saves Rick but dies in the process. Jessie loses a hand, her sons, and her life (while Judith is just chilling by herself somewhere? lol). Carl loses an eye. Roll credits. Wait, come back bonus cliffhanger special scene - Jesus. Or The Saviors.

Why do you care so much about what other people say about a TV show?

At the end of the day it's just entertainment. Opinions are just that. Opinions. None are necessarily above others.
