Walking Dead Season 6

JJman Returns

I really hope Sunday's episode is good. I worry that it will be just too much backstory for Morgan. Sure, it's interesting to know what happened to Morgan between "Clear" and him arriving in Alexandria, but I don't want to derail the progress of the story for the sake of going back to Morgan. It's almost unnecessary, really. You can reveal that stuff in an episode with dialogue.

Hopefully the 90 minute run-time on this episode means at least 30 minutes will be dedicated to Alexandria and where we are right now.

generally since tv shows are a visual medium, shows try to limit exposition as much as possible. Show don't tell. I think talking about what Morgan went through instead of us seeing the journey he took from batshit crazy to at peace and monk like would be rather disappointing and pretty bad story telling

Very true, unless it is a Tarantino film.

but the thing with Tarantino is that his dialogue is on another plane he can pull it off. I mean who else can pull off a character spending 5 minutes talking about keeping a watch hidden up his butt for generations. Only Tarantino lol. I was rewatching inglorious bastards last night and every scene is just so griping and beautifully written.

Agreed, Tarantino is great, and Waltz does an amazing job with his dialogue.

Tarantino is on another level, like Scorsese.

I'm ready for The Hateful Eight.

Decent episode. It got boring at times but it was interesting to learn the stories of Morgan and the "cheesemaker". Very good acting in this one as well. As all previous 90 minute episodes, the commercials got ridiculous and parts of it seemed stretched out. I love Morgan but didn't realize they planned to make him opposed to killing at THIS LEVEL. I think the Wolve that he has prisoner will eventually escape, kill a few people and he'll start killing again but at a very conservative rate.

Episode had it's moments. Overall not bad, but not great.

I think that the guy he has prisoner won't escape, but it will be a subject of debate once Rick gets back and learns that the ones who tried to kill him in the RV are part of that guy's group. You'll have the smarter faction within Alexandria that has learned it needs to survive and eliminate threats, then you'll have the other half siding with Morgan. Rick will have most, if not all, of his original group supporting him. Deanna will be the swing vote.

But that won't be for a couple of episodes. Looks like next week refocuses to Michonne, Heath, and Scott returning and Maggie discovering that Glenn is either still out there or dead (just based on the preview and assumption on my part). Carl probably will want to go out hunting Rick. Michonne will be trying to unite everybody, with that blonde chick Rick wants to bang trying to rally the troops to get used to the way living is now. I'm guessing the episode ends with Morgan maybe revealing his prisoner? I don't know.

I have no idea how they want to pace this season.

I watched the episode and loved it. The guys long exposition monologue started off rather weak but the emotion in Eastmans eyes when he got to telling about the guy who killed his family was especially good acting and writing. You know it's good writing when Eastman gets bitten and the goat dies and you are completely devastated even though you knew they probably werent making it out of the episode. I didn't watch it live so I watched commercial free. I feel like that's the way to go. Especially with Sunday night football running at the same time.

I liked the episode, the writing was smart and gave us an understanding of Morgan that we were really needing. Morgan, thanks to Eastman, does have the answer to the overall problem, but it is going to be a hard won one. Flipping one person at a time from savage to civilized is a long haul.

I'm not worried about the wolf locked in the room -- he won't make it past the discovery phase. I'm worried if Morgan can flip Rick back before it is too late.

Yeah!  My wife and I were really sad the goat and Eastman died!  And we knew it would happen!  Excellent writing in this one, though it was a little plodding pacing wise.

I enjoyed seeing how Morgan transitioned from the Crazy Clear guy to Zen Man, and it makes sense.  I love how he put himself back in the cage.  The whole story about the Dallas guy was wonderful.  Added layers to everything.  Sometimes killing is completely justifiable in the Zombie Apocalypse.  I did get choked up when I first noticed the kid's art.  I thought we were going to get some sob story about zombies, but a murder...oh man...that was WORSE!!!

Now they need to employ this kind of character development to the rest of the folks.  That's what we need!

As far as the wolf...I think the reason Morgan is going to try to keep him secret is because he sees hope in him.  He sees where he was himself with the wolf, and he has to believe there is redemption for all.  Truly all life is precious.  It's not going to go well.  If the wolf doesn't die, or just get shot by Rick when he gets back (he's going to be a ball of rage with the loss of Glen, and the mess of walkers, the wolf is going to kill Morgan.  That's sad, but I'm pretty sure that fate is sealed, alas.

I hope Rick jumped out of the RV and hauled ass...no way he could get out of that fighting them or even hopping on top of it

Not sure why Carol was playing the innocent housewife..

So, are the wolves the ones that were marking the trees? I'm still a little lost on those guys...I'm guessing Morgan was part of them seeing as that dude recognized him??
