Walking Dead Season 6

JJman Returns

I share the same sentiments with the last couple of pages.

Emotionally i didn't sense Glenn was dead when watching it real time and feel even more so no.

I was/still frustrated over the quarry plan. This led me to a practical thing for zombies in general.  Why not have fishing line or something similar ever so often in the woods or side of the road or whatever to simply trip zombies?  Don't they become like cockroaches once they fall?

Yes that's a semi serious question and no I'm not having flashbacks.

Glenn's been my favorite character since he first showed up. He's survived by luck, good sense and a dogged determination to survive. Him dying in that situation is just the antithesis of where they've taken that character, so I think he's going to make it through, somehow. But then again, sometimes this show just up an kills someone in an uncharacteristic way just to shake the viewers back up.

If he survives, the writers have their work cut out for them. That looks like an inescapable situation.

Back to the quarry... If you can make walls, like those around Alexandria, why not there? Why not drop bottles of kerosene and a couple of torches? Why send the problem down the road to someone else rather than take care of it yourself? I mean, ethically, it doesn't seem like something Rick would do. He's always been more of a take care of a problem now character when it comes to the walkers. Humans, he always does exactly the opposite, and it screws him over, but walkers he dispatches because they are simple hazards. Luring them down the road 20 miles just seems, well, stupid.

totally agree on Glenn and fire. Just start burning between the trucks.  Hide in tje woods to both see your progress and if anyone else shows up.

what will be interesting is the general audience reaction if he is indeed alive..a lot of people watching are not on the net searching fan theories and such and the one thing you do not want to do is make your audience feel you tried to misdirect them and pull the wool over their eyes.

I kind of laughed becasue the talking dead guess last week basically said when everyone was acting like Glenn was dead "yeah this would be really lame if this was some kind of fake out to try to fool us" and a part of me thinks that's exactly what this was and if it is the show will get some backlash at least from general fans and I imagine a loss of trust from others..

Seeing a lot of responses where y'all are suggesting a mass burning of 2,000 zombies...There is a slight problem (or more):

1. The Stink - Alexandria isn't that far from the quarry.  The smell would be really bad, and might make some of the older, weaker character sick, making the problems inside worse.

2. The attraction - They already know there are the Wolves out there who use zombies as weapons.  The giant smoke cloud would send a signal for hundreds of miles "hey, some poo went down here!" which would attract the attention the Alexandrians has been hiding from since the world went to pot.

3. Would the fires destabilize the quarry ramps more-so?  As we saw, the quarry ramps weren't exactly the best things in the entire world.  We also know that walkers on fire still are a threat, a burning threat.  Metal also gets softer as it heats up. You combine problems 1 & 2 with collapsing but possible walk ways for 2,000 burning zombies who set the rest of the land around you on fire...It still just seems like a horrifically bad idea that will lead to more problems.

Why listen to Rick (besides him beating your face in?), even after the plan failed?  Because he's at least a man of action, and the others who are just as strong and equally violent, would follow him to the gates of Hell.  Look at the rest of the Alexandrians, they are people who just wanted to hide, not a terrible strategy, and bring in the good people of the apocalypse.  Very noble and high minded, but they didn't know anything about survival or how to fight out in the real world.  Rick does.  More so than anyone else.  Plus he has a vision.

Is it a good idea to listen to a megalomaniac?  Probably not.  But that's why Morgan's there.  Morgan has been through the same fires that Rick has, but he is 180 degree different.     Morgan and Rick are going to butt heads.  Both want to save Alexandria, but each has different styles.  I think folks will warm up to Morgan's humanity soon, and Rick is going to have to self-assess how crazy he wants to get.  Rick and Morgan will not do anything to hurt each other, but Morgan will force Rick to be more humane.  Morgan is the new Herschal, and sadly we know how that will end. I hate that because if LOVE Morgan (and the actor too!).

You mean like shooting flares in the sky and letting balloons go?
