Walking Dead Season 6

JJman Returns

Queue "this show is so boring where's all the action?!?" Posts

I'm not one to complain about the "boring" scenes and I generally agree that it is annoying when people complain about that, but something got me tonight.  I don't know if it was the commercial breaks every five minutes or what but it seemed a little drawn out for me.  An hour and a half is a long time to set something up especially in the season premiere.

I think it's saying something when a truck horn got me excited.

Yea the ending was a little cheesy. An hour and a half of constant commercials, black and white "flashbacks", a seemingly random yet large mission for the group and Rick being a douchebag only to have it ended by a fuging truck horn. Seems like not much was accomplished with the plot imo. Still beats the hell outta season 4 though. Nothing compared to season 5.

Did they ever say where they were leading the herd to?

I liked the b/w flashbacks vs live action. I think that was kind of cool.

The whole quarry full of walkers that close to Alexandria and never being noticed was kind of a wtf though. They have been sending recruiters out and nobody ever stumbled across this?

I found it to be a little flat as well, but I think a lot of it was having to reestablish so many characters and what conflicts they had with who. The show tends to work better with a little smaller group that focuses on the interpersonal relationships and survival.

The effects team keeps getting better though....

I liked it.

The quarry thing was kind of meh because it was a little contrived. They could have just had the wolves herding the herd somewhere where the Alexandrians wouldn't find them so easily. I guess one could argue that maybe they hadn't explored that direction yet? Maybe they started out West, since that is where they were leading the herd to?

Anyway. I'm curious about the horn honking. Was it the wolves who decided to show up because of all the flares? Was it a malfunction in a vehicle near the community?

Either way, they are drawing a lot of unwanted attention to themselves. Kind of a bad plan on Rick's part with the herd. They should have just figured out a way to kill them at the quarry.

It'll be interesting to see how the Morgan/Rick/Michonne angle plays out.

    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
    • I think we look at both.  I wouldn't mind resigning Dalton for a deal.  He would know the offense and there is no pressure to see what we have in him. Then I wouldn't mind finding a low round rookie with potential.
