Funny wife vs Panthers game story

I met my wife in June 2003, she learned her lesson a few months later.... Now, it is understood that I'm only available before and sometimes after the game, depending on my intoxication level... I usually get left alone if I get drunk too, so I usually slightly overindulge a little bit, in moderation..... Maybe not as often as I think.....

My gf just drops me off at the bar then comes to watch the last few minutes when she comes to pick me up. At the end of last years 6 game losing streak I lost driving privileges after football, something about a liability? Fug it, I love my duty driver.

Let's put it this way, my house? It's in the great state of North Carolina, and I love to watch the games there.  My wife? On Sunday's she hangs out in the not as great state of South Carolina.

My wife lets me go to every Panthers game. And she also barely talks to me the day I come home because she's knows I'm in recovery. 

She's pretty cool.

i got mad at my girlfriend and told.her to not bother me on sundays, i dont remember the last time we made sex on sunday.

Thought I'd share then ask if anyone of you have similar stories.

During the Panthers vs Bucs game last week my wife decided to start telling me about a new book she wants to read. I was trying to listen but the Bucs were driving and making me mad. Our defense stopped them and the Bucs went for a field goal which they missed. Of course I then cheered and laughed at the stupid Bucs and that's when my wife got mad and threw a fit at me for not listening. We got in a little argument which I tried to explain that she couldn't possibly expect anything different while I'm watching a game. I think she did think about it and realized that.

But on a lighter side she did stand up and cheer when Norman took that pick-six to the endzone. lol

You're a newly wed, aren't you?  What you need to do is get her interested in football, especially the Panthers.  I'm lucky in that my wife of 42 years loves football as much as I.  However, she is not a Panther fan but a steelers fan.  I know, I know, how pathetic.  I watch the Panthers and she sets there watching also.  She will flip to the other game during a commercial.  Now, how did I train her to do this?  A woman needs tender loving care.  You allow her to cuddle next to you during a game.  Now, you need to make the environment to where she doesn't realize that you are allowing her to cuddle during this important time of your week.  You need to make the couch cozy, warm, inviting next to you.  Maybe a soft pillow, glass of wine on the table.  Anyway she needs to have 'have the idea she is honoring you with her presences' when she sets down next to you.  When Cam makes a first down and celebrates, give her a kiss.  When a touchdown is made, give her a hug and kiss.  Get the picture?  She will quietly and lovingly..........okay, do the best you can.

My girlfriend understands that I'm completely zoned in during the games. Happily, she and my game watching buddy's wife are friends, so while we're watching they just go in the other room and talk about what idiots he and I are.

You are early so it's not too late .....Ok here they are. ... rules to "YOUR" happiness.

1. My bank account, Her  bank account , our bank account.

2. Evaluate every precedence.  For instance if you ask "permission" to do something that is setting precedence.  So if you do it again it is expected that you "ask" again.  That leaves it open for the other person to say no.  Also works in reverse, if you let something go the first time and don't say anything, your silence = consent.

3. Happy wife , happy life is a general guideline.  It is not to be followed blindly. Just be prepared to handle the consequences of the unhappy wife to whatever you are doing.  Sometimes it's worth it.

4. Make football Holy in your home.  My kids don't bother me during the game except to watch, my wife doesn't bother me except to watch or unless it's an emergency,  my dogs don't even bark during the game.  You know why?  I made it holy like church.  I drop hints like... lets get this done Saturday before the game you know how I get when people bother me during the game.  I yell like it's sacrilege to talk non football stuff during the game.  I basically make it more inconvenient to bother me during the game than to just wait till after.

5. Encourage her to have friends of her own.  Encourage her and said friends to do stuff on Sundays.

Over the years I've slowly included my wife. During the Kerry Collins era she could endure maybe a quarter. By the Smitty era she was up to 3 qtrs and highlights. Along comes Cam and Luke... Now she's telling me news from the Panthers Facebook feed.

Speaking from experience, Cam & Luke are definitely helping increase the percentage of female Panthers' fans.
