Opening Day 09 vs. the Eagles. Smitty is mic'ed up and delivers some of the best on field soundbites the NFL has ever heard. Jake Delhomme decides to go Jake Delhomme and continue his implosion that he started a few months before against Arizona. The game is unwatchable. I begin to sulk midway through the third quarter. My wife (then GF at the time) beckons me to the stairway behind the couch. Ever the glutton for punishment, I reluctantly peel my eyes away from the carnage on the TV and head to the stairs.

At the top of the stairs stands my GF in high heels, knee high stockings, and new lingerie that she just bought. I decided to cut my losses and joined her upstairs. 

I was probably the only panther fan that enjoyed getting fuged that day.

You are early so it's not too late .....Ok here they are. ... rules to "YOUR" happiness.

1. My bank account, Her  bank account , our bank account.

2. Evaluate every precedence.  For instance if you ask "permission" to do something that is setting precedence.  So if you do it again it is expected that you "ask" again.  That leaves it open for the other person to say no.  Also works in reverse, if you let something go the first time and don't say anything, your silence = consent.

3. Happy wife , happy life is a general guideline.  It is not to be followed blindly. Just be prepared to handle the consequences of the unhappy wife to whatever you are doing.  Sometimes it's worth it.

4. Make football Holy in your home.  My kids don't bother me during the game except to watch, my wife doesn't bother me except to watch or unless it's an emergency,  my dogs don't even bark during the game.  You know why?  I made it holy like church.  I drop hints like... lets get this done Saturday before the game you know how I get when people bother me during the game.  I yell like it's sacrilege to talk non football stuff during the game.  I basically make it more inconvenient to bother me during the game than to just wait till after.

5. Encourage her to have friends of her own.  Encourage her and said friends to do stuff on Sundays.
