The Patriots are beating up on the Cowboys, but Greg Hardy is beating up on Tom Brady.

Saying you don't miss Hardy as a person... ok, your opinion.

Saying you don't miss Hardy as a player???  You are fool imo.

You're a bigger one if you think you can separate those two.

You don't get the player on the field without the idiot off it. And that leaves you wide open to having the idiot do something that costs you the player (and however much money you threw at him).

Also a forced fumble. We really got fugged by the league last year.

he would've stayed in Charlotte if we would've stood by him instead of sitting him.

Like anybody really cares what the heck happened between him and his ex. He made the 911 call for Pete's sake.

He should be a Panther...we've got an 11 mil cushion on the books and will have another 11 next year by cutting Tolbert and CJ to resign Norman.

boo this man!

5 QB hits, 2 sacks, a ff and a tfl. Not a single panther has had a game like that either last year or this one.

I don't care how many guns you toss a crazy bitch on! I want my monsters inc. back!!!!

Maybe in the media-driven NFL of today you can't separate those two, but you should be able to.

So athletes should be protected from the consequences of their off-field behavior?

Exactly how do you justify that?

Please tell me where I said that. The league should not be doing investigations into player's off field behavior or disciplining them for it. It should be entirely in the hands of the justice system and should be settled in a court of law. And if a team's owner wants to fire or discipline his employee for something that makes the team look bad or for breaking the law or whatever then that should be up to them. The league should have absolutely no hand in the matter. Their only concern as far as discipline should be making sure every player and team upholds the integrity of the game.

So teams and the league should just sign players and be completely oblivious as to whether that player is a risk to get in trouble?

Oh heck yeah. Great idea.

Once again, tell me where I said that.

You seem to believe that teams would deal justice evenhandedly. There's pretty much no evidence to support that.

You're basically arguing against players being held accountable by the league.  The teams are the league, and this is the way the owners want it for the good of the game.

IIt's attitudes like what you're suggesting here that foster an atmosphere of spoiled athletes thinking they can do whatever they want without consequence.

Believe it or not, there are things in this world more important than football.

how is that a weak argument ??? you're judging a guy you have never met on a situation you have minimal information about, while labeling him as a "woman beater" it's pathetic, even with the information provided hardy is no where near the monster the media and certain people are trying to paint him as it's ridiculous........it's like athletes aren't people that can make mistakes, why should one mistake haunt someone for years and years and this goes beyond just hardy.

and if she really felt she was right, you know she could have at least showed up to court............

First, she didn't need to show up to court because Hardy settled with her....and since I know you're going to ask for a link...

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/latest-news/article10422650.html (fourth paragraph)

Second, assaulting a woman (allegedly) isn't a mistake. Not even close.

Third, you're defending the guy on a situation you have minimal information about and I never labeled him as a "woman beater". Isn't defending him blindly the exact same thing?

Say all you want about Holder as a person, legal technicalities or whatever, the fact is Hardy was convicted during a bench trial of assaulting Nicole Holder as well as threatening her life. He also treated the entire court process like a joke which leads me to the real reason I'm glad he's gone...He demonstrated multiple times while in Carolina the willingness to make questionable decisions that jeopardized his football and personal life. If you want to look past all of these things that's fine. Me, I'm quite happy with this organization not paying a ticking time bomb millions to potentially jeopardize his playing status again.

Call me a "white knight" or whatever you want, I don't really care. The fact is it's pretty easy to not get wrapped up in situations like this (assuming you're not in a serious relationship with a person, which he wasn't at the time). Whether you're the one instigating it, or it's through the acquaintance of a person with such low character as you portray Nicole Holder with, if you use good judgement it's easy to walk away. Holder's friend admitted Hardy's relationship with Holder was bad for awhile....so end it, really simple.

Wrong...

Hardy was found guilty and convicted by a judge.

He was never found innocent and exonerated by a jury. There was no trial or hearing after the guilty verdict.

Ot simply went away because he paid Holder off.

But Holder was a coke fiend and stuff!!! Hardy couldn't have done it!

No I don't believe that at all. A team like the Raiders or the Cowboys would absolutely handle it differently than the Panthers. They should all be able to handle it however they want to. Can you try to explain to me the logic behind the league having anything to do with off the field incidents? It has absolutely nothing to do with the league or football. The legal system should handle it. Why should a player who does something off the field be held accountable by a football league? Makes no sense. People with regular jobs would not have it the same way. Their employers would decide whether to discipline them or fire them. In the NFL it should be the same. The man writing the players' paychecks should be the one deciding.

This makes absolutely no sense at all. Players would still have the exact same consequences anyone else would have if it were done the way I think it should be done. Nowhere have I suggested that football is more important than anything else.
