They're putting a dog down in Austin for biting a kid that grabbed it from behind at a pet-adoption event after the staff told the parents not to let their kid into the pen with the dogs.  Ramming police with your car and generally losing your mind seems more severe than that, so, can we consider the death penalty for this woman?

FYI, she met all 3 sides of the triangle required by international law for use of deadly force. That doesn't mean the cops MUST use deadly force but they would have been justified if they had.

Intent - purposely ramming a car into another car.

Capability - Driving a car.

Opportunity - She was in the position to strike people in their cars as well as people out of their cars including an officer (assuming his narration was accurate and she actually almost hit the cop.)

I've been in a situation where I had to use my judgement on if I should fire or not. In this situation, I would have been more aggressive in apprehending her but probably wouldn't have pulled the trigger. It's pretty obvious the cop did not fear for his life at any moment.

Sub 'crucified' for justified. She wasn't driving fast enough and clearly had no intent to hit anyone on foot. There were plenty of pedestrians around if she'd wanted to run over someone. It was plain that she just wanted to play low speed bumper cars and drive around in a circle.

    • I’ve said it in the past that this team has found brief runs of success this season off of a player or few that decides to turn God mode on for the day. Yesterday Chuba looked like the stud many forgot he was last season. Mike Jack ball hawked a pick 6 to the house? WTF? Derrick m-fin Brown.  Does anyone remember the last time a Panthers lineman closed out a big game? That play was classic Jenkins.  Coker is a stud (we are VERY fortunate to have him). Tet is a stud. Brown is a stud. Rico is a stud. Ickey is a stud. The O line continues to play much better than they rightfully should be. The depth players by and large have been refreshingly competent.  If they would have just played Panthers brand football all season they would probably have 9 wins but it is what it is. I think Bryce is far more comfortable in the game manager role, which for now is ‘ok’… for now. A team that can run the ball at will and has an opportunistic defense is a tough out for anybody, home or away.
    • True. But that elevation gain is no joke on the lungs.
    • Take away Bryce's two 4th and short passes and the screen to Chuba and what are you left with on fhe passing game? See how it goes when you selectively eliminate the three best plays? We caught lightning in a bottle yesterday on both sides of the ball. The D was overall not good but had three great plays forcing turnovers taking one back for a TD. The offensive passing game overall was not good but had three big plays resulting in TDs.
