Is it just me or does Russell Wilson always look downright miserable? Like he doesn't even want to be there.. Never smiling, never see him talking to teammates, he just looks like someone that hates his  job and is always miserable

Did a little google research.

If any game mattered the most in this season. I believe this is it. Going in after a bye week, were we've not faired well in the Rivera Era. Going against our nemesis, Seattle that has had our number for several years. All the games we've played in the regular season against them have been close and been literally decided by not only 7 points or less but that one play that could have won it for us.

This is going to be a test..I expect nothing but greatness from this squad come Sunday the 18th.

Yeah, last year when i wrote a season preview and said that the team wont have forgotten about the previous seattle losses, people told me that the team doesnt focus on stuff like that (which they argued only fans focus on). But is that still true? after two close losses last year to the same team, one in the playoffs? (i know one wasnt close in score, but it may as well have been). I think this team wants this monkey off their back. In fact there is alot of motivation to win this game:

1) proving that the 4-0 record isnt a fluke

2) Seattle monkey on Carolina's back

3) RR's record after bye weeks

4) knowing that there are still 12 games to play and that another win would be a great momentum-builder for the after-bye slate

5) its a conference opponent that could well decide seeding for the playoffs

6) we will be as healthy as we've been since kickoff in Week 1, and guys will be itching to play

I look at it like this.

Seattle game is a "are we really improved game".  It would validate we are playing better and get the Seattle monkey off of our back.

The Green Bay game is the "are we a championship team" game.  If we can beat them it lets us know we are ready to compete against anyone, anywhere.

If we win both of these games????  I don't know how anyone else can beat us.

^this. beating Seattle will give Carolina fans that their team is for real. beating all four of our next opponents will sound off loud and clear to the NFL that the Panthers have arrived. i still think we go 2-2 in this stretch. 3-1 would be amazing, and i hope the loss comes against the Colts (interconference game that wont affect playoff seeding). That said, the way all these teams are playing, there's an outside chance this team starts 8-0. im not willing to let myself hope for that yet. if we win the next three, then i'll worry about being 8-0.

and if Lynch can be corralled (if he can play),

one thing we have always done well with when we play Seattle has been corralling Beastmode. He never has as good of a game against the Panthers.

The only thing I am worried about in regards to the sea chicken game is the special team play. They have a rocket (Lockett) and we have had a hard time against lesser opponents.. I would bet they get at least one score on special teams and I do hope I am wrong.

That said I predict 24-20 panthers 5-0.

Wilson was straight trash against the lions. I didn't watch the whole game, but outside of 3-4 broken plays I don't think he had 50 yds. He also lost two fumbles, suprisingly being he fumbled nearly 15 times last season and didn't lose one. He was sacked like 6 times, but it shouldve been 9-12 sacks. If our d line is ready to wrap up and not allow those second chances much we will dominate him, those bs desperation throws 20 yds down the middle won't fly against us. Panthers win 20-10

Like the Panthers needed any extra motivation to beat the Seahawks next week, but the NFL media and social media are adding fuel to Panthers fire.

Many in the media are downplaying the Panthers 4-0 start as nothing more then being a byproduct of an easy schedule. The Panthers are starting to show they're growing tired of this narrative as indicitive of some of their answers to that question in recent press conferences.

Some pundits openly doubt the Panthers can succeed vs the second quarter of their schedule, that starts with Seattle. Yahoo sports Frank Shwabb has  the Seahawks and the Bills ranked ahead of Carolina in his latest power rankings, going as far as to predict the Panthers will be the only currently undefeated team to miss the playoffs entirely.

I know we've not faired to well against the Seahawks in the recent past, but I feel this is the Panthers year to clear that hurdle, and after October the 18th Seattle may request that the media not do them anymore favors by marginalizing future foes again.

Panthers 24

Seahawks 10

Do u really think it's a coincidence that they're resting Beastmode 2 weeks in a row? I don't. They're scared, and they should be

What's sad is that we all know when we beat the chickens, they'll be 1-4 and "don't have it anymore". Unless we put over 30 on them, people still will talk poo. OMG THE PIGEONS BEAT THE TOP TEAMS IN THE NFC EAST. Well the Redskins lead that division. Because their schedule is so much more difficult, the NFC East are media darlings. The Eagles suck, they should have lost to the Giants and the Brandon Weeden Cowboys, and they let Hoyer come back and put 28 on them. We are a physical team built for the long haul that doesn't win convincingly. But guess fuging what, we win. This team has a stigma this year, and Roddy White is already proving the shatbirds have a stench that will only get worse. I said a few weeks ago it'll take us beating Seattle, and that's not the case any more b/c they're a dumpster fire with a win over a Pickles' led Bears team and a "win" over an awful Lions team. It's going to take beating Green Bay, but even then it'll be something else like well it wasn't in Lambeau. Who knows. I honestly want the Seachickens to beat the Bungals this weekend, b/c if they don't, then us beating them will mean nothing.

agreed. we have been in every game so far this season. and in 3 out of 4, we held the lead from the end of the 1st quarter onward. Meanwhile, the Falcons have been down every game UNTIL the 4th quarter, except against the Texans. had the Texans started hoyer in that game, it might have been ALOT different.

im not expecting a blow out next weekend. really, im not expecting a win, as much as I hate to say that. But if the Panthers keep playing the way they have been, Seattle will fall to us. our offense has been moving the ball, Shula and lack of receivers and all. Our defense has either been absolutely stealing games from the opponent. and I'm hoping Delaire was more than just a one-game flash in the pan. imagine when we have him, Allen, CJ, Short, KK, and Love on the same line rotation. Jesus that gives ME heart palpitations. opposing quarterbacks are going to sh!t themselves.

Seattle and Carolina have played similar styles of football for a few years now, and Carolina has always shot itself in the foot late in games. They havent really been better than us. They've simply made less mistakes. This year, we are making less mistakes, and making other teams make more of them. similar play style + making less mistakes + making the other team make mistakes = a Carolina win next sunday.

Carnac the Magnificent Predicts...

The Panthers finally score a big win in their battle with the Seahawks.

Monday morning sports pundits everywhere point to this as proof that Seattle has lost its mojo.

I'm willing to bet almost 50% of this board cannot identify that picture. I'm pretty sure my kids couldn't. And they're both in college.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
