Media is setting Seattle up for beatdown

I just hope to God when Wilson is forced out of the pocket and scrambles and then throws a 40 yard bomb, and it floats up there and hangs, that someone can get into position and pick that poo off! He is the luckiest bastard when he throws it up like that, surely we can get someone into position!

that is my concern. He seems to pull crap out of his butt all the time. I hope our secondary makes him pay this time. I dont worry about the noise though. Cant be loder than the Falcon stadium where they illgally pumped in noise.

Before everyone says we suck after the bye week a 100 more times answer me this. Have we ever been 4-0 under Rivera before?

Exactly. This is uncharted territory and we have already gotten off to a fast start which is uncharacteristic of Rivera teams. Well this team is going to win after the bye aswell and spank that seachicken ass.l

I agree with you to a point,  but it's not like the QBs or teams we have faced make up Murderer's Row.  Beating The Seahawks in Seattle will validate our undefeated start ,  give us that true belief that we are for real,  and put the league on notice of the same.

My bulletin board  would read: "Erase all doubt!"

What we are seeing is not a bad offensive line, it is terrible cap management.  Sherman, Beastmode, Wilson, Wagner, etc etc etc.  they cost some coin.  I do not see Gettlemen getting us into a mess like this.  Some positions are devalued here, but not ignored.

Their Left guard was seen holding a cardboard sign outside the stadium a few weeks ago that read, "I will play offensive line for food."

I understand being a little annoyed people not taking us seriously, but we need no reason to beat Seattle down.  Not yet winning against a Russell Wilson lead Seahawk team is enough reason to take it to them.  A lot of guys had this game marked down before the season began.

Sea is not the same team without there lineman. I will never understand why you would trade protection and run game for a soft TE.

My issue is, as good as Cam's been.  Our weapons on offense are still horrendous, and their defense is still really good.  The run game for us is key, with Star's conditioning hopefully good by that week, I think we shut their run game down and make Russy throw.  It'll come down to our offense though, and that might be an issue.

I also think Tillman will have a massive impact on this game.  If a receiver catches the ball, I think Tillman makes sure they better hang on to said ball, or he will pop it out of their hands.

My last thought, and another underrated player in this game.  Cotchery, he will be the man Cam checks down to on a consistent basis, if he can get in the game with Philly, and Ginn and snag some catches underneath that will be huge for the confidence of our offense.

I look at it like this.

Seattle game is a "are we really improved game".  It would validate we are playing better and get the Seattle monkey off of our back.

The Green Bay game is the "are we a championship team" game.  If we can beat them it lets us know we are ready to compete against anyone, anywhere.

If we win both of these games????  I don't know how anyone else can beat us.

So far, the Seahawks have beaten Chicago and Detroit, not exactly shining championship-quality teams. They've been beaten by Green Bay and St. Louis, one team with a great offense but both featuring strong defenses.

Our defense will have a field day with their offensive line, and if Lynch can be corralled (if he can play), then we have them there. Guys like Shaq and Delaire can chase down a running QB like Wilson. And Thomas Davis is guaranteed to put a couple of hard hits on Jimmy Graham and put him back into the Nawlins fetal position he usually plays in against us.

Their defense? I'm not really sure. They have a lot of money invested there and a lot of guys who either want to get the big bucks or have realized that there aren't enough dollars to go around. They've also lost their DC from their great years... and I think that will tell as much as anything. We'll know after seeing how Cincinnati does this weekend. Their offense is completely different than ours, but we can learn a lot.

Carolina 23

Seattle 17

Is it just me or does Russell Wilson always look downright miserable? Like he doesn't even want to be there.. Never smiling, never see him talking to teammates, he just looks like someone that hates his  job and is always miserable

Looks like Cam from last year.  That grimace on Cam's face constantly got on my nerves.

I swear that's why he's so good at it. Because it's almost become second nature to the receivers to look for the comeback route when they see he's scrambling. It's like it's an unspoken part of their gameplan

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
