The sweet sweet tears of Bucs fans on losing Delaire...

How funny is that going to be if Delaire turns out to be a perennial double digit sack guy year after year and the Bucs are still trotting out a garbage group of nobodies at DE.

Doesn't even have to go that far for me.

If he's even as much as a solid player or a pass rush specialist, I'll laugh.

It's a bit strange that Delaire and his agent would choose to go on a 3-4 practice squad as a standup OLB.  He may have been having a hard time setting the edge against the run and they thought he would be better playing in space.

If he can hold up against the run, he may be the exact DE that our DC needs to be able to drop in coverage during LB/CB blitzs and take care of those short crossing patterns that have been so effective.

He's only about 10 pounds lighter than Hardy. Looked a little quicker IMO. Hopefully this guy improves on his first performance and makes us all forget Hardy existed.

That would be great.  He's 275?  Doesn't look it.  As quick as he is at 275 is awesome.

edit: looked it up, he's 254 according to NFL.com.  a good 30 lbs lighter than Hardy when he was here lol.  explains his quickness.  hopefully he can bulk up a little

Okay, if Gettleman has the info on players across the league to the point where Johnson gets hurt and we immediately snatch Delaire off of a practice squad and put him right into the lineup, then this really makes me feel that there really isn't a good enough receiver out there for us to just grab and put into play.

He got Norwood, but I think that may have a lot to do with intelligence gathering before the Seattle game, but it could pan out well.

Just keep clapping if you believe in Gettlemagic.

Also keep in mind we're talking about two completely different positions.

Norwood has to learn an entire new offense and develop chemistry with an entire new QB. With Delaire and Allen, their job is simply to line up and rush the passer.

Very true indeed! And Allen is an old pro at this. He may be here as much as a teacher as a player, something along the Peanut Tillman role.

Norwood's got a big learning curve, and really, catching the hypersonic missiles that Cam can fire adds an entirely new dimension to it.

Correct. Hardy got up close to 300 at one point (2012 I think) Maybe Delaire will bulk up now that he's a full time 4-3 DE.

Yea, that year he finally got good at run defense was the year he got up to around 295 from what I read at the time.  The last year or so I think he was playing at 285 and an unstoppable machine in both the run game and pass.  His happy medium weight.

Don't know if this has been already posted. If so, here it is again.

Hoss of the week-  http://www.sbnation.com/2015/10/6/9458707/hoss-of-the-week-panthers-ryan-delaire-jameis-winston

That was a fun read.  People get tape on him and it might not be so easy going.  But you cannot deny the quickness and speed.  As he learns the tricks of the trade he has some serious potential.

KUDOS DG.  Once again you show why you are one of the top GMs in the NFL.

    • 38 seconds in tells me he is full of poo and is spinning for clicks. You know how they say in court, where if they lie once you can assume they are lying always?  To me Riddick is doing a pretty spiteful thing I think, by putting those words in someone's mouth. Unless he knows that is true. Which I doubt. An honest person would not have said that to Tepper, so he basically assaulting Canales. It is not Canales' fault that Young will not adhere to the the coaching he was obviously given. And of course I am referring to that Buffalo series and the very noticeable footwork change. Evidence that he had the opportunity to be a better player but reverted to his wonky ass 'techniques'. Because it is fuging hard not to. But that is still on Young for not getting that done. And unless he gets it done he is just a fraud. A wannabe NFL quarterback, playing at it. I mean NFL quarterbacks are kicking his ass, even the rookies.  If he works to change this steadily he may be able to get it ingrained in a couple more months. That is as optimistic as I can be for him.  Riddick though, I don't don't listen to sports talk any more except what youtube clips I like but I used to think pretty highly of him. This is pretty sad, to see this scapegoating.  I can put words into Canales mouth too: "Mr Tepper, I have a pretty good feel for working with these guys, and have had some luck with it. You know Baker pretty well. That's my work with him.  But I have to be honest, I'm not sure i can promise I can fix Bryce. He has many challenges. There are things we can do to help but so much of it is up to him. If he is willing to listen and work, I am sure we can make him a better QB. How good will be up to him."   blah blah blah blah
    • Can they play QB? And some stuff from Ride the Lightning, too?
    • When dementia gripped my grandmother (and eventually took her), we each spent time with her and would try to correct her to what was reality and what wasn't. It was very tough on my Dad who she lived with for as long as they could care for her.  It seemed like she had become detached from her own timeline and would slide up and down it wildly. As my Dad said, "somedays I'm me to her, somedays I'm my Dad, somedays I'm her father, somedays I'm just the guy who works here. I tried correcting her but it just upset her. I found out that the best thing is to just not correct her and let her live out where ever and whenever she is."  And I'm not going to lie, it gets tough and eventually they leave their own timeline and it becomes unmanageable. Hold on to yourself and the ones you love through it all. Prayers for you and yours, man.
