SI's Power rankings.........What a joke

Man, I miss Dr. Z. Zimmerman might have gotten it wrong now and then, but at least some of his reasoning made sense. SI won't be the same this season without him (Paul Zimmerman suffered a triple stroke earlier this year that has left the grand old football scribe with no ability to speak or write at this time, however he is showing great progress at rehabilitation).

Don Banks just isn't in Zim's league, and neither is Peter King. King is the better writer (over Banks), but he is notorious for being biased for certain teams. Banks, who is no slouch, still spends most of his time writing about the big market teams or big market players. We're an afterthought to King and we don't have the market or player clout to get Bank's attention.

But that's okay with me, just fine. Under the radar is the way to go, I want us to be 6-0 and have the rankings guys putting us at #7 because they just don't believe we're as good as our record states.

Our offense is just as potent as the Falcons and nearly as potent in scoring as the Saints. Even with out DT issues

Our defense is still superior to either of theirs.

I hope you're right, my friend...

But in the words of many of my Star Wars family members, "I've got a bad feeling about this"....

I hope we do come out guns blazing like that, but after the preseason/end of last year, I'm not so sure...

TSN (Canada's ESPN) had us #20

I emailed the guy and he responed right away but didn't convince me at all...said "he has to wait and see" Wait and see?

God, when does 12-4 get you that much, well, that little amount of respect?

To my knowledge the Titans and Giants lost in the playoffs at home after the bye...

Maybe all this disrespect is a blessing in disguise...we all know the Panthers crumble once the spotlight is on them...and strive "under the radar"....

The SI rankings are based on what he saw in preseason and training camp. I'd say that's a **** ton more accurate than just putting last year's standings in order again.

Fortunately you play the Lions to open the season, so it will be tough to judge how good your team is going to be. Hey maybe your team will jump up to #1 in the rankings since the media love sucking some Saint Dick
