Hey everyone. I just wanted to give you all an update on Nichole, my high-school sweetheart. from the GoFundMe update i just posted:

hello everyone. Nichole is turning 21 here in a week and a half or so. Unfortunately, this wont be a cause for happiness. her insurance will lapse on her birthday, the 16th, if she doesnt have the money to start a new plan. she has had Medicare to this point, but Medicare only covers her until she is 21. She wants to start a tri-care plan, but needs $400 to do so. This insurance is necessary for the care she needs and for the MRIs she will need performed. please consider helping her meet this goal to ensure her continued recovery. She is reaching out because she is still unable to work. God bless you all.

for those who are out of the loop and have no clue why im posting this:

The latest news from the neuro surgeon she visited in Asheville was that he doesnt think surgery is the answer. he doesnt think the cyst in her brain is causing her symptoms. This is a blessing. However, he was worried it may be epilepsy related (or possibly due to extreme migraines). Things arent as life-threatening as they seemed, but regardless, Nichole is not out of the woods yet. She still needs as much help as possible. She still needs your prayers as well.

link to the GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/5652qkrg?pc=fb_u_g you dont have to donate much individually. if each person who visits the link just gave 5 dollars or so, she would have what she needs in no time.

Also, it is important to note. Her and I have taken a break from our relationship while she recovers. Her priorities need to be her recovery, and taking care of her son. I want to be her best friend while she goes through this mess, but her and i agreed that our relationship shouldnt be a priority. I know i referred to her as my gf in the thread title, but it was just easier to say than "dear friend whom ive known forever and love with all my heart but cant be with."

Mods, i understand if you have to move this, but i would deeply appreciate it if you could pin this for a few days like you did the first thread.

love you guys. the support the Huddle showed her and I that first week meant the world to me. it kept me going so i could keep going for her. you guys are the greatest. <3

I'm glad to hear that the problem may be something else. I've known & worked with a few people with epilepsy. It can be controlled & not necessarily life threatening but it is limiting. There are, of course, certain jobs that one would not be able to commit to & risks that you would not want to take. As for health insurance coverage & costs, she needs an advocate that can help her explore all the options because there are many. It's a shame that she lives in NC.

Thank you for the updates. Stay strong. Best of luck & wishes & thoughts & prayers continue to go her way.

I have to be honest young man and this will likely go against popular sentiment and get me roasted. I wish your friend well first and foremost but if she means to you what you're saying then you shouldn't be panhandling a football forum for $400. That money can be made easily in a week, you could work odds and ends day or night and easily put that together.

i make minimum wage and can barely make my own bills. i hear you, and i am doing what i can. but frankly, i wouldnt be asking the Huddle if i could do it myself.

that said, i do appreciate the kick in the ass. Im not going to delete the thread, but you made me think about what else i could be doing, and i can think of some ways to make alittle more and help her out. for that, i am appreciative.

    • I complete disagree. Who is available is extremely relevant. If you have a couple of players you would be happy with and you can still get them if you trade back, you should do that in a heartbeat. Being afraid that people will lowball you next year is an odd stance. Then you just say no next year, problem solved. In this particular draft you can get a very good player at 46. But to each their own.
    • I don't think so.  Watson really screwed them up.  I see something happening, but do not know what.  Cousins could be had in a trade--but they liked Flacco when he played there.  If it were me, I would not spend the #2 pick on Sanders.  I would go after a tier 2 qb because I think Will Howard is going to start in the NFL soon, and I think Ewers was rated very high at the beginning of the year--he knows adversity and he beat out a Manning while taking Texas to 2 playoff appearances.  I am not good at picking QBs, but I think Howard's run pass option and his accuracy is going to help someone.  Stay in Ohio and play for the Browns behind Flacco--
    • After Cam at #1, there are three or four elite players and there could be a trade--If I am the Giants and I am needed a winning season badly and I have several needs, I might trade out and pick up mid first and an extra second rounder, including a QB--while nobody is going to move up to #3 for Sanders, they might for Carter or Hunter.  If the Giants then move back, Sanders could still be in play.  That could be the trade in the top 3.  New England wants Campbell and I get that; Jacksonville at #5 could move back if someone wants Graham or Jeanty.  But barring some trade, the top 4 are probably locked in. So it could be 2 hours into the draft before we get any surprises. Nice list, by the way--you nailed it.
